Look at 2004 for example. Leeds scored a bucket load of tries that year. Sinfield returned 4. There's only so many tries to go around and it is not his job to be on the end of them.

So much more goes into a try than who puts down the ball but the less educated fan only sees the try scorers I guess.

Somewhat ironically, just as Sinfield closes in on the record points scored in SL fixtures (Regular Rounds + Play-Offs) the current number 1 (Deacon) has rediscovered his scoring touch with both boot and ball and hand.

Sinfield is also poised to stand alone at the head of Leeds' Challenge Cup totals in the SL Era in the following categories:

He currently shares the most starts with Keith Senior on 40. He also just needs 2 points to become the first Leeds player in the SL Era to register 300 points in the Challenge Cup.

I'm just a little too young to remember Mr Jones' feats on the field; and too old to have him as my class teacher.....but I feel a little sad for him to have his record surpassed. By all acccounts he was an exceptional talent on the field.

Take nothing away from Sinfield: he too will be remembered as a Leeds legend. Congratulations Kevin.

Leeds should just about get a minimum of six more fixtures in this season so allowing for such as fitness, form and selection we appear to be looking around mid May, possibly Challenge Cup 4th round or Rd 14 of SL.

Rob Burrow drew level with Francis Cummins with his first try last night and moved clear a couple of minutes later with his second as he became Leeds' 3rd highest try scorer of the SL Era.

The chance to become the 'quickest' try centurian (in terms of games taken) has already gone, although he's highly likely to take the 1st runner up spot when he hits his ton.
