He has hardly lit up the international scene as has Bailey but FearTheVee was implying that because Bailey has not lit up the international scene he is not great, how did he put it a plethora of international caps. Cunningham has not lit up the internaional scene but is indeed a modern day great. He has not been as involved as say Morley or Peacock but is still regarded as a modern day great.

Now do you see what i'm getting at?

The same coach who allegedly wanted to swap Keiron Cunningham for Pachniuk (sp?) at Halifax.

Spent a while with them then. So his realisation that they were flat track bullies who weren't as superhuman as fans of the "mighty S" and Eddie Hemmings might have the rest of us believe was a reasoned one, reached after some time.

He certainly did. A great man manager by all accounts and had the players wanting victory more than any coach I've ever seen at Saints.

Still, that has no bearing on the fact that he wanted to swap such great players for completely inferior ones. At that stage of their careers you'd have struggled to find a Saints fan who would have swapped Cunningham and Martyn for anyone in Super League, and in Cunninghams case, the world.

Would you go into business with him?

Define "with him"?

Would I be working alongside him in, say, goods acquisitions?

Or would I be working for him as a magician? Isn't that what the phrase "turning tricks" means?

Cunningham was never world class in your eyes?

Not really, no.

I certainly don't think he was ever dominant in the international arena in that era in the way the the likes of Farrell, Sculthorpe and Morley were.

He's probably Super League's greatest domestic player along with Senior but internationally, nah.

For the sake of the argument, let's say you and him were working on a 'project' would you ask for some (or all) of your slice before or after the job?

No way can Bailey be described as great. He has a very limited game with little creative ability. His go forward is very poor, he is slow and easily tackled. His best ability was to regain his feet quickly and win us a few free kicks but even that has gone these days. Most of his tackles now are second tackles and his discipline is suspect and he starts trouble. As each year has passed he has not improved and in fact has got worse. I would like to see his stats as an average for the last few seasons because I am sure they will show him for what he really is.

He can. Watch.

Bailey is great.

I've watched him play rugby to form my opnion. Still, have at it.

Don't forget his throw in's as well.

To form my opinion I have also watched him play, and I can see his rugby limitations.

No, what makes it true is his selection, week after week , after week, in of the the current era's most dominant team. What makes it true is that coach after coach at his club have selected him week after week. What makes it true is the domestic honours he's achieved. What makes it true is the international recognition he receives.

I don't need to wait for any stats to know the above.

What a ridiculous argument, Bailey is an average prop who adds to his limited ability by being the greatest wind up merchant since Graham Bradley (sp) at the Bulls.

He almost sucks the ability out of far better players!!

Yet he gets continually picked for the Leeds first team?
