It's an exciting idea, but just one thing....wouldnt our SL season have already kicked off by the time this fixture is usually played? It's a long round trip to make when we're already into our campaign. It's always a pre-season game for the Aussies.

Poor Keith....this really is his last refuge as he clutches desperatley for those straws in an attempt to generate some new worm burping material.

Just imagine if the Rhinos did play in Aus and won the game (I wont say Keith would loose credibility as it went a long time ago) we would never see him again and that would be a terrible shame.

For the WCC to remain a legitimate competitive event in the RL calendar, the superior NRL team needs to have handicaps applied in order to even things up. That's why the WCC requires...

1. Home advantage for the SL team.
2. Scheduling during the SL season when the SL team has the advantage of several games under it's belt.
3. Scheduling during the NRL off-season when the NRL team is at it's most vulnerable and under-prepared.
4. An Aussie ref because the English one's appear less inclined to favour the home SL team with all the 50/50 calls.
5. The NRL team to have several key players missing from their NRL Grand Final line-up.
6. Preferably, the NRL team turns up for the game less than a week before the game kicks off.

If all those handicaps above are in place, the SL club has a chance of competing and winning. Remove all those handicaps above and there's a huge risk of an embarrassing blowout scoreline which is not in the best interests of either the WCC, the Super League concept itself and it's credibility.

Correct, it is about the money as well. We get enough bums on seats over here for the WCC to finance itself and provide a healthy wad for each participating team.

This new Manly CEO must believe in wacky pipe-dreams of bong-shaped appearance if he seriously thinks they could attract 80,000 in Sydney or 50,000 in - Brisbane??? To watch Manly??? LOL - for a fixture of this nature. Those are the kind of crowds they only attract for State of Origin which their fans are obsessed with due to blanket media coverage of state-against-state rivalry. 10,000 at Brookvale if they handed out plenty of freebies would be the best case attendance scenario. The WCC really is not that important to Australian RL supporters.

It'd have to be a substantial whip round. I'm used to travelling in business or first class on flights. I don't do cattle class.

There's no trolling involved in pointing out the blindingly obvious. Super League standards are miles behind the NRL and playing the WCC on an NRL clubs terms is an invitation to an embarrassing defeat. I don't think Leeds deserve any opportunity to be humiliated down under.

If you're uncomfortable with the truth, just say so or don't respond at all. Accusations of trolling on this occasion just don't cut it.

Would any sane person who thought super league was so poor spend so much time watching it and further time moaning about it on the internet, surely you just wouldn't watch it and find something you did enjoy wasting your spare time on.

Would be great for this group of players. SL standards may well be below NRL however in a one of game anything can happen and sure it would not be a blow out score.

Leeds would finish half way up the NRL ladder as would Wigan and Saints - the standards in the NRL are not what they used to be. The likes of Cronulla, Titans, Canberra, Penrith, Parramatta are no less cannon fodder for the better sides in the NRL than the likes of Wakey, Salford, Harlequins are for the better sides in SL

By your own admission - Bellamy has taken a bunch of rejects and nearly won the whole comp - hardly smacks of sky high standards. Manly are a pretty average side - they won because they are a little less average than the rest.

What the Aussies are good at is the performing the basics - the idea the game is so structured and all the plays are thought out and executes like American football is a fallacy. The fact most teams struggle to score says as much about the quality and execution of these plays as it does about the defensive capability - Aussie coaches are more concerned with no losing than they are about winning.

Sheens is the only coach who appears to place real value in attacking flair and playing to strengths of his team.

Having watched 3-5 NRL games a week for the last 6 months - including 3 live - the vast majority are tedious affairs played by robots carrying out a very rigid game plan - if they deviate at all the coach will simply sub them.

Could Leeds beat Manly - its possible but unlikely.
