I don't feel bitter about losing to Wigan - we were out-played in every department, just I don't like how they're playing at the moment. Last year they were a pleasure to watch, this year they seem bullish and stretch the rules.

As I have commented before Sean Wane really motivates his team and they certainly don't let him down.
The tackling last night was perfect, obviously the lesson to be learned from the undoubted success story at Wigan, is to develope the youth structure .
This is what the salary cap is designed for. I am not certain who will be the stand out stars of the future for Wigan from this crop of youngsters. But one things for certain some way down the line they will want top money for their performances. I can't finish without mentioning Salfords contribution to last nights match,or lack of. They were absolutely dreadful.

Although I was pleased to see that Crosby further reinforced my view of him despite Mr Gallery's refutation of my previous comments.
If he (Crosby) could cut out that aspect of his game he has good potential.
Dudson (I believe) was also up to his usual tricks of late hits on the kicker.

Funny thing is McIlorum won't even get a fraction of the grief hardaker got, yet he's gone in with a deliberate late shot and the players been taken off in a neck brace.

Wigan have been getting away with dirty cheap shot tactics all season.
It started with no neck from full back to Pettybourne.
Farrell plays the cheap shot every time I have seen him and as for McIllourum he is one fecking disgrace of a player.
How he gets away with it god only knows.
Can't remember the other cheap shot merchant who hit Danny McGuire late earlier in the season Dudson possibly?
Then again what do you expect from a nob of a coach who probably instills it in them.

Until RFL get a grip this is going to continue - Ref's allow them to extend the tackle through the wrestle which slows the PTB down to a snails pace. As for thuggery they have 3/4 - depending on who on the pitch at the time - who are very adapt at illegal stuff in the tackle - it starts with the captain!!

The man is a disgrace to the game, he should be banned "sine die". He is still known as "mental mickey" in some parts of Leeds and with good reason

I would want to see more angles on the shot on Laithwaite. It was a bit late, but didn't look the worst I've seen. Hopefully the lad's OK. I was more concerned about the impact on Waterhouse's knees to be honest. I think that's a 'technique' that needs stamping out.

I wonder if the RFL lipreader will be scrutinising what Eddy Pettybourne said to Paul Wood.

I have noticed a couple of refs (last night and last week) being very lenient on slowing the play the ball down. I don't see why you would blame the defending team for that though. They're going to want the opposition ruck speed to be as slow as possible, so most teams (most good teams anyway) will push the ref to see how far he'll let them go. If he keeps allowing them to hang on and wrestle for that long then they'd be stupid not to. It isn't just Wigan who do it.

He is an aggressor but if you look passed that, there's not much else to look at.

With Wigan the names on the team-sheet are almost irrelevant these days. You will get a highly committed performance nine times out of ten. That comes down to instilling the right attitude and that starts with the coaching staff.

That is true to a point and I admire their committment.
But if some Leeds players were doing what a fair few Wigan players do in games that I have watched them in this season there would be an outcry.
Ablett only has to look at someone for some fans to say he is a niggly barsteward.
Sinfield is a dirty so and so for one mis timed head scrape.

Excellent player by SL standards who would be an asset to any SL club.

The whole Wigan 'amazing structure' is overhyped. They're not the same team without SOL the team.

Any team would surely miss O'Loughlin. Not the biggest by any means but plays with the heart of a lion - fearless competitor. The nine out of ten comment was in reference to playing with commitment irrespective of the names on the team-sheet. Watching Leeds under this non-coach it's almost all about the names on the team-sheet - both for us and for the opposition.

AGreed. I've not seen the hit, but I can't imagine its the worse there is. Its RL FFS. There should always be a bit of niggle and rough stuff.

Without the McIllorums of the game we would have a very dull and stale game. I don't condone blatent foul play, but these sorts of incidents are part of the game, even if they are outside of the rules
