I am hoping rugby league will get a look in this year, and I am hoping for either Kevin or Jamie Peacock, but will Kevin accept such an award given his reputed political stance

| With his first conversion at Castleford on Friday Sinfield passed 100 points for the 9th consecutive season. The two years previous to that run starting in 2003 he just missed out by recording 99 and 96 respectively.

| Kevin Sinfield is closing in on a thousand (2 point) goals in the SL Regular Rounds. He currently stands on 991 after the 8 he kicked at Castleford on Friday.
__________
Quote ="lionarmour87"is he within sight of Lewis Jones's goal kicking record this season?'"
Lewis Jones kicked 1,244 goals during his Leeds career. I have no way of seperating that out into conversions/penalties - drop goals as all goals were counted as two points at that time.
Kevin Sinfield has kicked 1,174 + 26 drop goals for a comparable total of 1,200.
On that basis he will have every chance of knocking off the remaining 44 to equal the current record during the current season.
__________
During the SL Era Leeds players have reached their personal century on 30 occasions in total.
Player - Minimum 100 points (in consecutive seasons):
Kevin Sinfield - 9 (9)
Iestyn Harris - 5 (5)
Danny McGuire - 3 (1)
Rob Burrow - 2 (2)
Mark Calderwood 2 (1)
Ryan Hall - 2 (2)
Graham Holroyd - 2 (2)
Marcus Bai - 1
Francis Cummins - 1
Scott Donald - 1
Keith Senior - 1
Ben Walker 1

| Jamie Jones-Buchanan's next Start will be his 150th in the SL Regular Rounds.
Lee Smith's next Start will be his 100th in the SL Regular Rounds.
Brent Webb's next Appearance will be his 100th in the SL Regular Rounds.
Kevin Sinfield needs 4 two point goals for 1,000 in the SL Regular Rounds. (Would be interesting to see the totals for Paul Deacon and Andrew Farrell to see where Sinfield is placed.)
Sinfield's goal total for Leeds stands at 1190 + 26 (DG) = 1216 chasing down the Leeds club record of 1244 currently held by Lewis Jones.
__________
I did have one waiting in the wings for Keith Senior as he reached 297 SL Regular Round Appearances for Leeds, could be a bit of a wait now to see if I'll need it.

| With many thanks to =#800000A-Fire-Inside for the following:
Kevin Sinfield is on the verge (7 points) of passing Andrew Farrell and moving into 2nd place on the SL Regular Rounds + Play-Offs points list.
1 - Paul Deacon 2,395
2 - Andrew Farrell 2,376
3 - =#0000BFKevin Sinfield 2,370
4 - Sean Long 2,200
5 - Lee Briers 2,106
6 - Iestyn Harris 1,674
7 - Danny Tickle 1,631
8 - Pat Richards 1,463
9 - Henry Paul 1,238
10 - Danny Orr 1,167
__________
In addition Sinfield is also now within sight of becoming Leeds' all-time top marksman. Chasing down Lewis Jones goal-kicking record of 1,244 Sinfield is 17 away on 1,227 (including drop goals)
Passing the records held by Deacon and Jones in the same week is now a possibility.
Due to the differential points scoring of the respective Eras though Sinfield still requires 60 goal-kicking points to equal Jones' mark of 2,488 so that one remains on hold for now.

Danny McGuire must be within spitting distance of becoming Leeds' 5th highest tryscorer as well - he was close to Les Dyl at the en of last season.

Given the other names on that list, should Sinfield avoid serious injury resulting in a period of non-involvement, he should not only hit the top of the list soon, but should stay there for a very very long time. Not bad for a bloke who doesn't score enough Tries...

As Brisbane said they are just Leeds records.
Lewis Jones currently heads the most points (2,920) and most goals (1,244) in a Leeds career list and Kevin Sinfield is set to pass the latter in a few weeks (1,227) and the former at some stage next season (2,692) - fitness, form and selection allowing.

Here's a list of every player to have passed 100 tries for the Leeds club:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that when he does, Hall is likely to do so with the best strike rate of any player on that list bar Eric Harris in terms of tries per game.
Not bad for a player who should be in the centre or second row according to some.

The 194 goals Jones kicked in 1956/57 equalled Sullivan's best figure from 1933/34.
The Jones 194 was topped the following season (1957/5icon_cool.gif by Bernard Ganley at Oldham with 219 and that record was also subsequently bettered by David Watkins at Salford with 221 in 1972/73.
No idea where the record for goals in a season stands now unfortunately.
______
Could it be for points in a season?
Lewis Jones held that record at one time (possibly still does) after he amassed 496 during the Challenge Cup winning 1956/57 season. This record includes all points scored in a season from club and representative fixtures.
496 points - (48 Appearances - 36 Tries, 194 Goals)

It's the role of every player on the team to score tries, however as Loose Forward (and playmaker) it's not his primary role.
You were in fact correct that it was an attempt at irony, but clearly a poor one...

| Despite that Kevin Sinfield is still 10th on the Leeds SL Era try list with 66 to his credit through his longevity.
His strike-rate of 17.277 tries per 100 appearances is the poorest in the top 19 until you reach Matt Diskin (16.667) and Barrie McDermott (14.925)

| Its interesting that Sinfield scores so few tries. Whilst it is partly a result of his role as playmaker, it does tend to support the fact that his lack of pace/power makes him less of a threat individually near to the line.

Or alternatively, that he's adept at setting up others while still being able to take any opportunities which open up for him.
Half a dozen tries a season isn't a bad return for a back row forward IMO, particularly when you factor in the other elements to his game.
