'Un-reserved' seating fiasco.

Farce.

We were in the Britainnia Stand with our ‘Un-reserved’ tickets. I thought the best view would be somewhere near the half way line but when we tried to enter the stand from the concourse we were told that Leeds fans had to go to the far end.

I tried to point out to the steward that we had un-reserved tickets but she said that Leeds fans were only allowed in one specific part of the stand.

Why does what it say on your ticket have no relationship to where you actually end up sitting?

Why..??? The words p[size=100i[/sizess-up and brewery spring to mind.

Just an interest add on, was told on my ticket the gates open 75 minutes before kick off, got there 80 minutes before kick over with hundreds off other Leeds supporters to be made to stand in the rain till 60 minutes before they opened the gates. Asked a steward what was going on, to be told "Not my problem". There good turn out by Leeds supporters I would say 7000 of the ground were Leeds, pity about the game

We went onto the concourse and was gonna go have a mooch further towards the halfway line to be met by a young lass in a fluoresce jacket barring our way with the phrase "you can't come in ere! Leeds fans that way!" To which I enquired "my ticket says unreserved?" "Don't care, Leeds fans that way!" Then we came into the stand where a young lass resembling nick Hancock told us to move as the entire section was reserved for hudds fans only. When I pointed out that we could sit in any seat not marked with a giants sticker she said "I don't care, leeds fans are not allowed in here! Hudds fans only" only when her gaffer came up and explained the giants sticker issue did she shut her gob. There were plenty of seats with giants reserved tickets unused near me which miffed me even more.

You got a seat, cover from the rain and a decent view at a reasonable price-all things we are denied at headingley. Of course home fans should get the advantage. Stop complaining.

If they wished to, they could buy a ticket for the halfway line, like I wanted to yesterday, and there would be no problem whatsoever.

There is no restriction at Leeds for anyone to buy a ticket for anywhere.

Last season (when we beat you again), we were stood at the away end by the scoreboard and it was pi$$ing it down, so we tried to get in the south stand which is the same standing only but they would not let us in.

I said at a reasonable price....and like scorpio we too have been denied access to that stand-its the only ground my mum won't go to as a result.

That's because you had a WT ticket. Leeds fans who have WT tickets aren't allowed in the SouthStand either. This is the only reason. Had you have paid on the day through the SS turnstyles or bought a Southstand ticket before hand then you could have gone in there no problem.

Then buy a ticket to stand at the opposite end underneath the Carnegie Stand.

You can't transfer from the WT to the South Stand because there is no gate to let you do that and you didn't buy a ticket for that stand - but thats the same at every ground these days, the secret is in asking the right questions, "where can I stand at Headingley that is under cover" will get you an option, the fact that you just go along with all the sheep and choose to stand in the rain is your fault.

No need to buy tickets for normal league games, plenty of space, and both stands are standing, can`t see any difference apart from it being an out of date ground with no cover on a quarter of it, and all standing down another.

Actually, there is a gate. I sometimes go through the cricket ground to get into the stadium but they ask you to show your Southstand ticket at the gate between the two.

The difference is there is a set capacity for each stand, and it's normally 3/4s full before you get walk ups. They know how many they can let in on the turnstyles so if you don't go through them then you can't get in the southstand without a ticket. Like I said, it's the same for Leeds fans as well as away fans.

There is a difference and it concerns safety when you have areas of a stadium that often get close to capacity in them, especially standing areas which are more difficult to control than seated areas.

So having bought your ticket or paid on a certain gate for a certain area of the ground you cannot then move to a different area, I'm sure you've come across this in other areas of life too.

As for "out of date", its not, it has a current safety certificate and the top rating from the RFL.

I see everybody has ignored the reasonable price bit. Headingley isn't the worst ground in SL- even though ive been in better in the championship-but for me it's the worst value for money for an away fan.before you start saying don't come then- I go to support my team regardless of facilities.

Its £20 to stand on three sides of the ground, games against Huddersfield are rarely all ticket (LOL) so you have a good choice of where to be, under cover or not under cover, thats no more expensive than most other SL grounds, or you can sit down under cover for just £3 more.

Admittedly it takes a bit of imagination to force yourself outside of the mindset that you HAVE to stand on the Western Terrace and that away supporters are treated differently to home supporters, but that is just rubbish, you have the same choice of where to be in the ground as every single other person who walks up to the gates.
