| Rather see him cut his teeth further playing more Super League than the cameos Leeds have offered him so far. Enjoy him Wakie. Leeds will hopefully pencil him in long term with the age of most of Leeds props.

I would usually agree with you but after the Amor fiasco I'm a little less willing to see our young prodigies get lured away from us.

Your obsession with this lad is getting ridiculous, are you his dad or agent? He's not bound to be a success like Amor, despite your touching belief that he will. I hope he does well, and the recommendations from the sensible posters on here bode well, but it's basically a punt.
Give it a rest please.'"

| Two months is better than a season, hopefully he will be then match fit, at a time when I fear father time will be telling JP and Kylie they cannot play every game, and that it is clear to our coach that Richard Moore nice person he appears to be is not first team player, we can bring him back. Match fit

| Hopefully Singleton will be back - match fit - just in time for Saints away. And JP can put his feet up the week after winning the WCC.

| Not sure why there`s so much negativity with Moore.
Every time I have seen him play he comes out better than most in particular Griffin.
Another player who has not been given a chance at Leeds instead of resting Kylie and JP.

Last year Moore did what Moore does and what was expected for him to do. I thought he offered a fair reflection of what was expected. Good squad player, played his part in that role. Moore will be disappointed towards the run-in he wasn't selected.
Then compare the execution and expectation against Griffin.....

| 2 months is ideal. He's not ready to face a team like Melborne, which would rule out selecting him for the first 3 SL fixtures as we should be playing the starters to get them match fit for the WCC. So no likely chance of selection for the first month, but hopefully a couple of appearances in time for a return to Leeds in the April/May/June period we struggled in last year.
As for Moore, he did ok. But the several games he played in, mostly against lower oppostion, is when perhaps Singleton could've got a few games instead. He didn't do bad, he was just an unnecessary signing really.

Too true.....BUT then I would now select BOTH Singleton and Moore......and god forbid, Kirke [ibefore[/i Griffin - whatever the match.
I hope that this time there is an immediate call back clause -which will actually be invoked - in the event of any injury crisis.

Clearly never discussed the matter with him then. He told us he wanted to give it a shot at Leeds and see if he could make it at the top level. Leeds was his first choice when the rumors first started about him leaving Wakefield but due to them not wanting him back, he decided to show Wakefield some loyalty after giving him the chance of first team rugby every week.

An offer was tabled to Amor from Leeds - he decided not to take it.

| Wakey cut short his loan and he's been shipped off to Hunslet on Dual Reg. On the Wakey board they talk about how they have everyone fit again but it only takes a couple of knocks in today's game for them to be short again.
If he was showing up well in training then surely they would've kept him and hoped to extend his loan?
That they're happy to let him go is probably more worrying than McDermott not having played him yet.

| He's not better than the clutch of front rowers ahead of him at Leeds. He's not head and shoulders above the props at Wakefield, at least not enough to oust the incumbents from their side anyway.
IMO there's a significant level of hype being built up around the lad which frankly he doesn't need and isn't necessarily reflected by performances.

| Watched Brad and liam today against Dewsbury, thought he was head and shoulders above them and can't see him learning a lot there apart from playing against men. On the other hand young Liam didn't stand out apart from some good passes from dummy half and was looking on the same level.

On what level do you say that Andy? Because the coaches are not picking him?
Your point may well pan out correct, but without the opportunity of first team rugby we just won't know. Griffin is also not been given opportunities, it's the decision of the coach rather than ability.
It's funny how a lot of these international academy lads over last couple of years considered best of their age are playing regularly at other clubs. Twelve months ago would Burke at Wigan really have been considered as good as Singleton? He's certainly ahead now,

| I'm all for opportunities for the young lads Gotcha but Singleton was given one and appears, for the time being, to have failed to grasp it.
He was, by all accounts, pretty poor for Wakey against the Bulls, hasn't got in the 1st team since and has now been shipped out.
Hardly a glowing endorsement.
For the time being, despite the glowing endorsements on these message boards, the coaches at two Super League clubs don't think he's ready. However, the problem we have with our new Academy set up is that makes life very difficult for the developments of forwards who, James graham and Stuart Fielden apart, need time to develop and mature in a way that isn't necessary for backs.

I am not sure the Wakefield game can be considered an opportunity. It was a poor performance from the whole Wakefield team on the day. So unless he was the player to blame for that performance, then it is hard to say he was not up to it.
It could of course pan out, that he simply isn't up to it, but he needs the opportunity. If not at Leeds find another Super league club who will give him that opportunity. Salford, Bradford, London, Hull KR, are crying out for props.
I still don't agree with the point of needing more time to develop. I am still Firmly in the camp that the best forwards, the majority of the time, started out an early age in first team rugby. The one major exception been Peacock. For me, getting exposure early enhances that development. I go back to the Burke example I said earlier.

| We are three games into the season, we donāt need to worry that players havenāt got games quite yet.
Singleton is only twenty if he can get 10-15 first team appearances this year he will be bang on track.

On what basis are you saying that Burke is better than Singleton? The pair have - IIRC - played pretty much the same number of games at first team level. If Paul Prescott was fit, then Greg Burke probably wouldn't be in Wigan's 17.
I base my judgement on what I see of players when they play. What I've seen from Singleton is a lot of effort, but little (one offload on Boxing Day apart) that has made me stand up and go "wow".
It's still early in his career, he's got time on his side. At the moment though, if I was picking a four prop rotation to win a game for either Leeds or Wakefield, with everyone else in that position fit I wouldn't have him in either.

| I have to agree MHL I was expecting to see Liam go really well, harsh to single him out but they are the ones I went to watch. Hunslet don't seem to have any structured play and it was all a bit one up rugby. Hence my thoughts on neither learning much apart from keeping match fit.
