Cuthbertson did well at 13, we look very good with Myler and gale on the park

Pleased with that performance. The lads look good. Gale is exactly what we have been missing for everything. Myler looks good at 9. Mustapha, Holroyd, Oledzki hit the ground running.

22-10 preseason friendly, but definitely good for morale

Mustapha was poor I thought, knocked on twice but the conditions played a part in that so ill let him off.

Bar Marshall didn’t see a standout for Wigan though

Thought French was a stand out for Wigan. Wish we had him in our squad.

Other than the amazing pass for try, Hastings was pretty nothing for them.

There’s an element of truth to that but the flip side is we also started to mix the side up a lot

Thought Holroyd, Myler and Oledzki all played well (I'd have all in my 17). I thought Mellor went well along with Gale, Ward and Walker.

I think Lui has had a poor pre-season. I wouldn't be against McLelland partnering Gale against Hull but know this won't happen.

That came from the Wigan commentators. It was an excuse and nothing more. Truth is he we dominated the first 15 mins of game, and then from the 35th minute to the 80th.

The 20 mins in between was all Wigan, when we rarely had the ball. When we had the ball we dominated.

We did ok. We look more structured pretty clear Luke Gale is a big signing for us and we desperately need him to stay fit all year. He was running the team. We had dummy runners, options and moved the ball well at times. Issue is weve no pace and that concerns me.

Defensively we was good, the tries Wigan scored was on the end of back to back sets.

Positive hit out i thought. Were 2 week from the real stuff though now and thats what counts.

Were a better team than last year but im not sure we are where we all want to be but i understand and accept that but i feel we are improving.

Lui was good last week. He will start the season at 6 and rightly so if after a several games he isnt coming up with the goods then you maybe you look at changes

That's why we have signed Leeming

It appears Myler is adapting and performing well in the hooker role.
I know its early days but it makes you wonder if Leeming is a necessary signing.

Ive no issue with the Leeming signing. We desperately needed a new 9 whether Leeming is the right man remains to be seen.

Once Leeming is fit it will be interesting to see if Dwyer or Myler gets the bench spot.

I've a good gut feeling about Myler this year. Hes a man playing for his future.

I watched it, Tom Holroyd played himself into the 17 for round one. Oledzki good again andI like the looks of Mellor & McLelland.
Other positives, I thought Ward & Walker looked sharp at times and getting back to their best.

Laughable in what way? The only laughable thing is you putting a positive spin on the fact that you were 0 for 39 minutes and 30 seconds and only came into the game once the Wigan first team was on the sidelines. Taking 2 in a pre season friendly against a bunch of kids speaks volumes.
