| Quote ="Gotcha"Bloody hell we have been carrying JJB and Delaney for the last three years, and up until the realisation hits at just how much backwards we have gone, they are classed as legends and all ok to keep going until they want.
Here we are with Ward, who is a far superior player to those two have ever been, and people want him written off.
Wards problems have been the way he has been used, and can be overcome. If we had fitter players around him instead of the waste of cap space on the other two I mentioned, then those issues would rapidly go away.'"
Agreed, yes he's had a bad run of injuries but calls for him to be shipped out is just ridiculous, he is a class act.

| Stevie Ward would be one of the last players I would want to lose from the club. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire early. He's a bright kid, he can do other things in the game besides getting broken up every week.

| Over the past few years he has been bulked up and the skill element has been made to take a backseat out of his game. If he continues to be used as a battering Ram then i fear for his long term playing future. Cam Smith and cuthbertson were forced down the same route to the detriment of their form and in Smiths case his development.

| I understand the frustration with Ward, but the idea of getting rid of him at this stage is stupidity of the highest order.
Our priority should be replacing those who are too old and not good enough, and Ward falls into neither category. I'm not knowledgeable enough on the specifics of his injuries, but am otherwise open to the possibility of playing him in a role that entails fewer collisions against bigger forwards in the middle of the field, if this would make a difference.
Jeez, next someone will be calling to get rid of Watkins...

Rate these 2 highly but goodness me they miss some games.... Ward cannot string two games together. I believe this is what stopped him from being named Capt.
Big season needed from both next year.

JJB and Delaney both been key assets to us over the years, JJb and Delaney are both finished, Delaney is one of our best overseas player ever, maybe even the best value over seas player, ward is not a superior player to those two. He may have the potential to be better than those players, but he is never on the field, next year if its the same then sorry but he should be shown the door, if i or anybody else was on the sick as much as him, we would not be employed. he his simply no good to us like this he cant even finish most games when he does play.

We’ve had about 3 good seasons from Delaney, the rest of the time he’s been an injury prone “Warrior” (= goes off injured a lot).
I do agree re Ward though with regard to next season. No matter how good a player is, if they’re spending more time on the sidelines, season after season, they’re taking up cap space which could be used elsewhere

Widnes are in last chance solution, their hunger SHOULD be very high, if they have any professionalism about them. A loss for them and they are finished. Salford, whilst have wins are not as good as Hull KR, and we can at least say we came close on that. So at this stage for me Widnes is the more worrying.'"
As a Widnes fan, what does hunger mean? Keep us out for one half and we tend to fall apart. If we can put a decent amount of points on you in the first half we might stand a chance.

We are conceding points for fun even against London and Toulouse we are giving away around 5 tries a game so what he means is if Widnes are up for it then it will be a struggle for us. I can't imagine Widnes won't be up for this seeing as it really is last chance saloon for you.

But there not yet. They definitely will be if they lose to us, but they are more than capable of getting in the MPG if they win. If that happened then the likelyhood is that they would play us in that MPG, but by beating us they would have the phsycological advantage.
Easiest thing is we win, Widnes are gone, and the worst that will happen for us is MPG, but more likely 3rd.

| Defence, defence, defence. We will get enough scoring opportunities (as long as we can hold on to the ball), but it will be defence that wins this game as if Widnes don't score much in the first hour their heads will drop.
I agree, win this we will finish 3rd.

| I have enjoyed watching Cuthbo over the years, but he was shocking v KR. Not on his own I know, but........
In truth, the decision to extend his deal doesn't look so clever right now.

Not again - there must come a point where the club have to protect the player from himself
