Apart from his kicking I thought Lilley was & is bang average. Milnes was the best half on the pitch. What Lilley did have in spades though was the right attitude; completely committed.

I have to agee with this. I was actually dissapointed in Lilley, consdiering I am not one who has written him off. I don't think he offered that much at all, and thought Milnes was very good. The giving Lilley MOM was just the ex Leeds thing.

I heard Ferres was offered a one year deal, but was insistent on a two year deal. I do hope the club did as you suggest and pulled away the first offer and are not retaining.

If it that's from League Express list, it just says Not Yet Determined, which means they are off contract but nothing has been decided on them.

I also though Milnes was more influential but the press choose the man of the match in cup games and it made for a good story to pick Lilley.

As for Lilley's performance I thought it was steady, he made one good assist, tackled well when needed and showed no fear. Milnes was the one who did the real damage.

If that`s true that we have even considered offering Ferres a one year deal then Sinfield sad to say is clueless.
He got it badly wrong with JJB and Ablett and sticking with Sutcliffe in the hope one day he will make a stand off and now another crony Ferres gets offered a one year deal.

This is because the whole club can not tell the difference between a "leader" and someone with experience. We have heard this a lot since 2015. There is an obsession with players who have done it before, rather than what a "leader" really does.

Stevie Ward stands out heads & shoulders above the others as captain material. I realise his injuries haven't helped.

I agree this is the situation, but what makes it harder to understand is that Sinfield himself was only young when he took over as Captain.

I always thought Ward would be the perfect Captain after McGuire (or even before) but I think with his struggle with a few personal issues and injuries it would have been too much for him, pretty much like it has for Kallum!

Well, youre in luck, in the weekly powder puff <replace player name here> chat with the YEP, he was saying that he likes to lead through his actions, but was looking to improve his on field role.

I'm with you, we bought him to be a voice and a leader, whether hes just been a bit hands off and not wanting to rock the boat vocal wise I don't know, but its time to get stuck in for me.

I think Agar had a chance to come in and take that role from Watkins for now and command that leadership from merrin as captain
