Ormanroyd should have been given longer. What did he do wrong? His gains per carry are excellent. I would like to see him doing a back row stint.
As for Catalans, we have just put in an excellent display. People kept saying we were poor because of people missing. Yesterday the most yet, yet one of our better displays. To be honest, given a choice, I would only take Myler, Watkins, and Ward back from what we missed and put into yesterday’s, given a choice, and none may be available. Look at the way we played by certain players forced out, certain players that slow us down, and stop us playing that type of game.

| Ormonroyd isn’t as strong in defence or as quick to get set, shortly after he came on Saints made a half break because he wasn’t in position quickly enough. We will probably need him against Catalans though.
McDermott got his tactics spot on getting as many minutes as possible from Garbutt, Mullally and Cuthbertson, giving them rests by kicking for touch while also taking Saints back three out of the game.

| Ormondroyd's defence is too slow and flat footed, especially for back row

| Actually, if Ormondroyd was a few years younger, he'd be a really exciting prospect. He does seem to struggle with the pace of games in defence, but he probably needs to play more games against SL teams, and we'll see that side of his game improve.

Do you think he's mobile enough for 2nd row in Super League Mark? I'm not so sure. I like him, he has good things going for him tho I'm just not as convinced as some.
Every week people put him in their 17 and every week I think there is no way he will be in the team.

Id like to see him on dual reg at least because i think he Johnson & Mconnel are too good for u19 RL.

I would be ok with him/them going dual reg or on loan to further develop them and get them playing against men but then that proves my point I made that he isn't ready for Super League just yet.
I agree with all the points you make about Trout and would also add he's got a good step/footwork and he's got good size my concern is his lateral movement and his ability to cover ground across the park but he's got some things going for him and hopefully he will continue to develop further.

| Well if that performance vs our previous recent efforts doesn't prove that attitude makes all the difference then nothing will. That side was as weak on paper as most we've put out this year but the performance and style of play was miles better.

| I think they style of play was the most pleasing thing. It's been a long long time since we offloaded like that. Let's hope penny has dropped and that's how we need to play now.

I think it’s quite simlple, having two starting props allowing Cutherbertson to pmay at loose (his best position in my book) meant he was able to play his natural game, likewise parcell.

So its purely down to that why we've been so poor at times this year??

Yes but when the other players are compensating for the lack of props by doing more defensive work it hampers the attacking play. Parcell thrives off big men punching through and getting quick play the balls, this hasn’t been happening.
I understand you just want to pin everything on the coach but there is more to it than that IMO.
It will be interesting to see whether that narrow loss spurs the team on or dents the confidence even more

| I agree quick play the balls help but it worked Friday with the same amount of big men we had in recent games so that defeats that argument. the coach should have solved the problem weeks ago so yes, he is at fault.clearly st fault

| I would go with the following on the basis Walker has had several hits to the head this past two or three games and Oledezki is given a bit longer to recover and other than Trout we do not have many more options.
Golding
Briscoe
Newman
Sutcliffe
Handley
Moon
Lilley
Garbutt
Parcell
Mullalley
Ferres
Smith
Cuthbertson
Subs
Dwyer
Ormandroyd
Walters
Holroyd

| Aaron bower from the guardian just tweeted this
Leeds have already named their 19-man squad for tomorrow’s game with Catalans but understand there may yet be a new face featuring for the Rhinos on Wednesday. Would expect some sort of announcement today
I asked if the new face was academy or signing and he confirmed signing.

| I’m told that Luke Briscoe has been training with Leeds all week and has re-signed for Leeds and plays tomorrow.
