| Leeds are a huge club and would have no trouble attracting a decent coach. If we can get Toovey then you can manage too.
The danger of sitting by and not doing anything allows this kind of display to become acceptable. You then lose the winning culture and become a side in decline. That's difficult to stop by just tinkering around the edges.

| We're not anywhere near close to Hetherington firing the trigger just yet.
We've not even reached the "open letter to the supporters" stage yet.

| The irony is if the shirts were reversed, i.e. if Cas fielded our team and we fielded theirs, chances are based on the history of this fixture, it would have been close, if not Cas sneaking it.
I look across this board and people aren't debating what the weather might be tomorrow, they are denying what the weather was yesterday.
F*******g rediculous. This is a terrible Leeds squad, the great names we still have are old and injury prone, or simply playing well below their capability. The rest are just not good enough and never will be, particularly the 1980's "A" team standard pack we are in the process of assembling.

| Quote ="Sacred Cow"Watching you over the last season and a bit it is obviously time for a change. But only four games into the season with a 50/50 win/loss ratio and a glut of injuries means Hetherington won't get shut yet so i reckon BM will be safe until at least the end of the month, if not til easter. Problem is by then the top 8 might be a long way off for you.'"
Hmm interesting saying the Honey Monster "won't get shut" McDermott is permanent staff so sacking is not really an option so are you suggesting he is made redundant? No can do as the role has not "ceased to exist" and IMHO I cannot see the arrogance of McDermott diminishing sufficient for him to fall on the sword so I think we are stuck with McDermott's inept attempts at excuse making for some time to come.
Hetherington however could be ousted by a vote of no confidence by the board and I would suggest that would change things immensely

| McDermott doesn't think we were that bad in the first half.
McDermott. Doesn't. Think. We. Were. That. Bad. The. First. Half.
Amazing.

Ha thats a good point, lets just nick Toovey off Bradford! They are hardly in a position to be turning down transfer fees

Of course he is, I'd forgotten then I remembered how much time he spent on the pitch in the WCC, more than most of the players.
So at least we'd be getting an on-field coach even if he masqueraded as a water carrier.

| Last year I stated the McDermott had been hiding behind the experienced members of the squad that had actually lead the team and I was shouted down. Is this message finally sinking in? Remember his previous club and how successful they weren't?
For the record in 2015 we went through the mid 8s undefeated then in 2016 had horrendous injuries and ended up getting relegated. Just saying....

Is that because we'll be getting back to SL as Leeds go into freefall?
I honestly think Leeds will turn this around, but thought that last year. There is no point sticking your head in the sand though. The warning signs are there for all to see. GH just needs to grasp the nettle and do something about it as BM just doesn't look up to the job. Sure, you might paper over some cracks but there is a decision looming that could affect several years to come.

| To score just 51 points in four games is extremely worrying to say the least. On that basis so far we don't stand much chance when we meet Wigan, wire and hull

| This rot began way back, for a number of years now it has become apparent that we struggle to score from within the opponents 20 meter area with a lack of structure and, generally, a poor kicking game. Even in the much fabled 2015, some of the games I saw mid-season were an absolute shambles. The saving grace was the sheer grit, will and determination that saw a group come together to fight for each other.
As things have progressed it seems that a lot of the management of that came down to two senior members who are no longer with the club.
We are now left with a team with little cohesion, no plan B, little flair and zero belief. The heart that was lacking from last night's performance was there to see in the warm up, which was half-d to say the least.
There are players in the squad who are not fit to wear the shirt and some long standing servants who need to recognise it is time to move on.
But the first and, ultimately, the most important change is to relieve Mr McDermott of his position.

| Last night I watch Downfall for those who have not seen it, its a German film about the last few days in Berlin in 1945, the actor who played Hitler reminded me so much of McDermott on Thursday evening coming out with daft statements and not be able to see the reality of the situation. Brian do the decent thing,

Loving the Downfall reference, I defended Mac last year, through the crap, thinking it has to get better, but he deffo needs to go now. We should be 0-4, can't score at all, defence has completely given up, it's like we've had no off season to prepare. Even with the injuries, I've never been more disgusted with a performance from Leeds.
A few on here are mentioning Cleary as a possible replacement, very unlikely to happen because 1) I'm not sure GH will give Mac the boot 2) His time with a young, injury hit squad at Penrith means his reputation in NRL is intact (he's always a favourite to replace the next sacked coach).
New to the forum by the way, hi to everybody

| The time to act is now.
I *hope* that GH now accepts this, and is biding his time to find the right replacement. This gives BMD a few games to regain some semblance of pride, before a new name is announced.
Any incremental improvements made in the first few games count for nothing after a loss like that so early in the season, which was as bad as any seen in 2016. Much has been made of our much improved defence - what happened to that?

Most of our best defenders were sat in the stands, you could name a whole new set of forwards with what was missing
Galloway - Burrow - Garbutt
Ablett - Ward
JJB
+ Ferres

That is a pretty lame excuse - neither Galloway nor Ferres have played this year so have made no contribution to the "So Called" improved defence.
As soon as they came up against a decent attacking side it showed the defence hadn't improved - in fact was that the biggest loss during the SL era?
