Leeds are likely to beat Warrington next week......despite any coaching deficiences the team will want this badly enough to bust a gut. Time is running out for them to add this string to their bow.

They can want it as badly as they have ever wanted a game before, but personally I don't think we have it in us anymore with this team, to win a must win game against Warrington or Wigan. I was never bothered about winning this or the final, as I don't have interest in the CC, but now we really need this to change the mood around this club. As messing this up, I don't think they will get themselves back mentally for the more important GF run in.

You can forget the GF....IMO all the remaining petrol in the tank is being saved for the CC. Win the CC and the season will peter out....lose and there will be more effort.

The worrying thing about the attitude was that it was the some of so called senior players whose attitude stunk, led by Danny McGuire as captain, he hasn't got a ounce of leadership material in his body.

...and yet our esteemed coach continues to see much more in him than most others. McGuire is unfortunately fast becoming the new Kirke: what exactly does the coach see to warrant selection?

It's not a 'harking' back trying to say "oh we'll be ok on the day" like we've done before. It was to highlight how placing too much emphasis on the game before a big cup/playoff game is as history tells us (in more sports than just RL, with football being a big one also) can be often inaccurate and not key to how things will go.

I'm not saying Leeds will turn up and do the business on Saturday, we may well even get beat quite comfortably (do you and some of the others feel better now for hearing that?). However, I seriously doubt that if we do lose on Saturday it's because we didn't pick up a 'confidence' boosting win over Bradford.

Would it make some more comfortable if I also use the comparison of Leeds playing very well at Wigan on the last league game on 2013 but then struggling in the playoffs? Or Warrington getting 60+ points put past them by London the week before the CC Final but still beating Leeds at Wembley?

I am interested in how you go about gathering evidence on some ones "attittude".

Do I believe the team prepared for the game. YES

Do I believe they were possibley distracted by next weeks Semi. YES

Do I believe the some players lacked motivation against Bradford. YES

Do I believe that its perhaps difficult or not even desirable to maintain a high level of concentration over an extended period. YES

Do I believe we will win when it actually matters. YES

I believe nothing I read and only half of what I see.

We will win the semi and then we can all celebrate together and hug.

I would agree with that. Which is why personally I think it is more important to look at the run of matches we have had and performing. Friday was just another notch on a list of games where the performance is unacceptable. Had it being one in isolation then as said, would agree with you. But it's not, it's just a continuation.

A run this poor performance wise, I have not seen for a long time. Results I think we might have had a worse run, but performances not so sure. I remember the early super league days and before, and a run of performance like this would generally have everyone saying how something is not right in camp, there is squad differences, etc. I don't think there is that, but I do think there is a realisation with the players that perhaps some are not quite the standard they were, or thought they were.

This thread is about Leeds Rhinos, as the board is, and this one about attitude. You might be better to contribute to that, instead of showing this schoolboy bully type attitude, that in truth is about as intimidating as a butterfly on a rose petal.

Like I've said in previous posts - the evidence was in how the players acted on the field - walking to scrums, taps and other breakdowns in the game, sloppy and unforced handling errors, lazy marker defence, silly penalties.... All signs of a poor attitude to the game. If a team is 'up' for a game, those things don't happen (though you may get some silly 'over eager' penalties).

You admitted in your post that you don't believe all players were motivated for the Bradford game - that's a poor attitude!!! I also admitted in my earlier posts that it's understandable that some players would have an eye on next week (particularly those guaranteed a spot), what I said I was more disappointed about was that the younger fringe players who should be trying to play for a spot in the semi team didn't up their game - and obviously it's disappointing the senior players didn't lead the way.

For me, the younger/fringe players missed a big opportunity. They were playing against one of the weakest SL teams and had the chance to shine - they chose (along with the senior players) to enter the game with a poor, low tempo and half d approach.

I'd expect any youngster in the Leeds set up worth their salt to be looking at the current squad and thinking they've arrived at the perfect time to take someone's shirt- many players are getting to the end stage of their careers and their form is starting to slip. They should be coming in with the attitude that their gonna make it impossible for the coach to drop them - playing against Bradford was a great chance to showcase both their will to win and skillset. Walters is the only youngster I see at the moment who's really busting a gut to keep a shirt.

I'd hope younger players would bust a gut, but TBH if you are trying your best and feel that the senior players are just mucking about, I could understand it being a bit hard to maintain for 80 minutes.

Personally I think the sort of performance described against Bradford is the worst way to prepare for a big game, which the semi clearly is to those same senior players, regardless of players out injured/rrested. It doesn't mean they can't beat Warrington, but IMO it makes it even harder than it should be.

I think Gotcha and G1 should meet up and have a drink together at Brudenell Social Club. Heck - even have a slice of cake each.
