I dont get the impression he's Scotty Donald type quick but he can certainly motor and supports breaks and can finish from what i've seen.

Agree about Chisholm's pace but there are other parts of his game that were still letting if down last year mostly his defence and under the high ball. He's a fantastic prospect but in danger of being Leeds's own Kevin Penny!

Our recent recruiting in the forwards is very worrying.

In the last few years all of the following have been bought, hardly played and/or then got rid of within a couple of seasons

Cross, Hauraki, Ambler, Amor and now Griffin and to a lesser extent Moore. I've not included Eastwood as I've given us the benefit of the doubt in that it was circumstances beyond our control.

Some/most might argue why the above were purchased in the first place but that only goes to further question the recruitment policy in the forwards.

What quota does Mitch Vincent come under as he is in as he is in the Under 19s squad, but was part of Melbourne Storm academy squad last year?

Depends. We'd need to know if he has an EU passport and how old he is as to whether he could be counted as club trained in the future.

Anyway, Rhinoms, He played in the preseason trial match against Wigan off the bench but is yet to play in the 19s comp. I was posting on the Storm board leading up to the WCC and have been back on and asked in their u18s thread. Ill post back with any news I get.

So far (I posted at 1:30am their time and its only 5:30 now) I have had 1 reply...

"Yeah we brought him over from CHristchurch last year where he made the Merit side in their national competition as a halfback. When he got here he hurt is his neck in training and so was down the queue to get a game. But played the season in the Local u18 Competition, where he was the leading try scorer and point scorer. He was a great runner with ball in hand."

It'll be good to see how he goes over time. I don't know how old he is though.

Not sure what the quality is like though down in The Vic youth leagues as Melbourne seem to poach most of QLD when it comes to talent.

Interesting that we are looking at HB's especially with White and Sutcliffe going so well and imo the latter is a certainty for the 1st team all things going well etc etc.

TBF this is probably the best time since McGuire and Burrow to be an academy half back at Leeds. All our options are in their early 30s so I can see why the club are looking around for possible future 1st grade standard players. As good as a kid can look at 18, it doesn't mean that will transfer to FG, especially at 6 or 7.

Vincent obviously has some talent otherwise the Storm wouldn't have brought him in from NZ, the same as us bringing him from Aus I suppose.
