The only failing of that plan is that Burrow can't cut it at scrum half any more.

Webb leaving will be a big change from a tactical point of view but had to happen at some point and we seem to have a lot of (non-webb like) options at FB (BJB, Hardaker, Smith, Briscoe and isn't the lad in the U20's meant to be pretty good). Also from a playmaker point of view we've Ward coming through and with Webb could potentially have ended up with too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.'"
Peacock got a two year deal, and Moore was signed on a three year deal - both in their 30s.

It's not as easy as it used to be bringing in a big name.. the NRL have increased the salary cap add to that a poor Pound against the Aussie Dollar... and there's not too many British big names available.. i'd like us to sign Yeaman or Shenton.. but you never know GH could pull a rabbit out of the hat with a big name NZ or Aus player..

I feel you may be cuting him a bit short (pardon the pun) in the last 2 seasons he's not been given much of a chance. I think he would work better along side the organisation of Sir Kev plus Mags chiming into the line on attack.

Neither Yeaman or Shenton are worth recruiting IMO. At least Hardaker has youth and inexperience as an excuse for not passing to his winger.

TBF the first third of last season was a disaster for most of the team not just Robbie.

And only improved when McGuire was back, and Burrow was moved to impact sub off the bench.

| We are in a gradual transition,2 years wouldhave been a year too long for Webb. The warm weather will suit him and he will add a few more strings to his bow regarding his gourmet skills. The old guard are gradually leaving bit by bit, lets hope its a successful transition

| McGuire at fullback! FFS has Nantwich cloned himself?
I still remember Danny's superb interpretation of a seal at feeding time, when Tomkins Senior left him flapping on the ground at Wembley the other year.
A full back, he is not.

THe drawback being that neither Yeaman or Shenton are actually all that good. They're both OK, but if rumoursa are to be believed, Shenton is surplus to requirements at Saints. Yeaman has a knack for getting over the tryline, but always seems , when I watch, to have a related but less useful knack of letting opposition players over the tryline. I'd rather give Ablett the 4 shirt than sign either to be honest (which is not saying that's what I hope to see happen - I would like Ablett to remain in the pack where he is at his best IMO).

Unfair ! I have [unever[/u suggested McGuire to FB for the reasons you state (people think Webb's one on one tackling is bad ).....Smith to SO yes I confess, but McGuire to FB: Never !

| The guy we want to be going after, if we're trying to sign anyone, is Ryan Atkins. Top Left Centre in the country, he and his family are Rhinos fans, and I think we can beat Wire again this year-his desire for trophies will be beter satiated here than elswhere. Would also sort our backline for a long time with Hardaker (20), Jones-Bishop (23), Watkins (20), Atkins (26) and Hall (25)

He would be the best (British) centre option out there, but it's not just as simple as 'going after him'. Is he even out of contract at the end of the year? and if he ain't, no way are Warrington gonna let him go!

| If the only options out there are the likes of Yeaman, Shenton and Atkins I would rather stick with what we have got.
The likes of Watkins who outplayed Atkins last time they met. Hardaker, Smith, Ablett and Kleinhorst are better options.
I personally think we will try BJB or Smith at FB and we will buy maybe the Wolfman.
Having said that I would sooner we try Chisholm on the wing.
What about Briscoe to the FB position?

On what basis are Smith, Ablett and the completley untested Keinhorst better options than Atkins, I dont think im the only one who thinks he is the best LC in the league.
Hardaker BJB Watkins Atkins Hall would be an awesome back 5. I agree chisholm should be tried but I would rather sign Atkins if he was available.

| and what if he's not available, which is the more realistic case. We all know he's a Leeds fan, but he's under contract at Warrington and GH is extremely unlikely to part with enough cash to buy him out of his contract, even if he wanted to come.

Atkins is good but I can't see GH buying out his contract. Player swap?

| Hetherington hasn't been afraid to pay transfer fees before BUT you need a willing seller and a willing player. Does Atkins really want to leave Warrington enough to demand a transfer? They aren't a club who need the cash so are unlikely to accept an offer if one were made direct. Down that road therefore lies an ugly, Harris-esque dogfight whereas, if ever he comes to Leeds, it's more likely to be along the lines of JP - at the end of his current deal.

If I remember correctly the Wire outbid us, but he spoke at the time of his dream to play for his hometown club at some point in his career.
