I'm as underwhelmed as I was when Leeds announced the signings of Weller Hauraki and Ben Cross. I'm just thankful that GH didn't underwhelm me three times on the trot, so your mob are welcome to him.

Saints and Leeds have a lot in common... two clubs on the gradual slide over the past few seasons with little sign from either of arresting that gradual slide. Signings like Cross and Laffranchi merely emphasise the point.

I'm afraid we're both gonna have to get used to Wigan copping for the important silverware for a while yet.

That's one thing Leeds and Saints don't have in common. Leeds may be on the slide but Saints most definitely aren't.

I agree with you. If either team is on the slide it aint Saints. Lomax and Wheeler look to be halting that slide with a few other playing in recent weeks that are ones for the future. Your recruitment has been very impressive...hence the reason why the Leeds fans make there own threads about them.

Ask her again now that he's signed for Saints and she has to live near St. Helens!

They may have kids coming through, but none of them are in the positions they are going to be weakened in for 2012.

Unless they sign another couple of quality forwards from somewhere those talented young outside backs are going to be operating on the back foot for most of next year at least.

Saints have said they are in talks with 2/3 players they want to bring in for 2012.

To be honest I don't think saints will be on the slide like some people suggest. We've got some very good young lads coming thru and looking to bring in some experience to get the balance of youth and old correct.

Where is this information coming from. I'd say they're more likely to be after a decent pay day. I'm not sure either of them have any interest in Jonny Lomax for example - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if neither of them knew who he was.

I doubt lomax knows any young kids coming thru at the titans either. So what's your point?

Hohaia is the current fullback for the world champs and has been few good few years now so I can't see how thas a bad signing.

Laffranchi has worked with Royce before so he knows him very well. The titans want him back there as a coach when his contract is up, that shows just how highly thought of he is there.

On the playing side, laffranchi has been going well and IMO is a very good signing despite his age. He'll bring experience to a very young squad.

My point, which you'd have seen if you'd bothered to read it properly, was that Saintsfan said they were both interested in youth development.

I said bugger all about the quality of the signings although I don't think either are particularly inspiring to be honest.

I know nothing of Hohaia's intentions regarding youth development.

However, Laffrinchi has said in the press he is looking forward to giving his experience and knowledge to some of the youngsters coming through at St Helens. Titans also want him back after his tenure here to be a mentor and coach to the players in their youth system. So I think that is was SaintsFan may have been eluding too/

Fair enough. I doubt he's that bothered personally but will obviously do what he can when over here to help his side.
