I thought DB was better than disko today mate.
Disko hasn't been his usual self these last couple of matches his defence isn't as strong and his distribution has been very avaerage imo.
There's enough quality in our squad and it's a case of getting them ALL match fit and firing and playing the same tune.

Since his injury which kept him out of the Warrington game, he's been off the pace since after a start which was bringing back signs from 2004.

Leeds attack looks sadly pedestrian when compared with saints. the dummy runners and passing is at a totally different speed to ours.

At the moment we seem to be relying on moments of individual brilliance rather than having any sort of structure and game plan.

A right centre is needed badly. Gleeson seems to be available why not spend and get him? Watkins is younf enough to learn and will still get enough game time in between.

Sent Donald clear twice, the first time he should have finished, a 7 is a bit kind i suppose.

I’ll agree that today DB’s defence was better than Diskin’s but when Matt is firing on all cylinders I can see much between them.

Maybe Buderus was out of sorts today (ring rusty) but he through a couple of passes that had NHS written all over them and his distribution was what I’d expect from a SL hooker but nothing world class.

As I say DB has hardly played in the last 8 moths and that we might not have seen anything like the player that we signed last year to press but as it was today I wouldn’t have classed him as anything special.

On the subject of hookers,Don*t you think it could be a good call to give McShane a go,? Heard he is a very promising player and one for the future.

The thing that always bugs me with Leeds is the way we always seem to turn down penalty goal attempts against Saints

Nope, I'm confident in Brians selection. One for the future yes, current team when all are fit no. He will be continually developing under Buderus & Diskin. I think by the time Buderus Leeds days are over he will be installed as the main Leeds hooker.

Spot on. At times we appear to be completely static, and have no idea where the ball carrier is going and end up going 30 yards across the pitch for no forward gain.

Last season when Burrows made a break like that 2nd half one, there would have been 2 or 3 players along side in support. Today? nobody.

We badly need a right centre, as at the moment the Gibson/Donald pairing is not working.

Gibson is struggling at this level, and Donald appears to have his body on the pitch, but his head in Australia. Unless Scotty has a centre good enough to create the gaps for him to use his speed, then he has lost his only attacking option.

On the plus side....Keef is showing some real class and an appetite for the game, Buderus can only improve with some match time.... and the season has a long time to run.

Thought the lads tried their hearts out to be honest. We had chances to take the game. Saints were (and probably are all round) the better side but we could have won.
They were much more clinical than us (stupid forward pass aside) in everything they did. Remember we were further away from them in the CC Semis last year, and went on to take the title.

I will however have the following whinge. When are the coaching staff going to see that Donald is about 1/4 as good on the right, as he is on the left? I don't give a hoot if he 'should' be able to play as well on both sides, because he can't. It's one of our main attacking weapons from last year gone. Hall will be fine on the right.

Secondly I've got big concerns about the right centre spot. I'd rate Ablett there above Gibson to be honest, and at this stage I'm unconvinced that Watkins can fill the gap [ithis season[/i. If Smith goes (and he's not an ideal choice there either, IMO) then we're in the sh*t, and certainly need to invest in someone.

I thought the ascoreline vs Wigan was very flattering as well, since they played as bad as any side I've seen for the 20 or so minutes when Leeds racked up the points.

I just don't understand why lack of width, creativity and structure are so apparent, especially near the opposition line with the number of 'playmakers' we have.

I don't think they have the structure or game-plan.

When Saints attacked our line look at the moves they put on, the runners they had and how they always had an over-lap and we were always desperately scrambling.

Then compare when we had the ball how comfortable they were.

Its' been the same for some time.

Danny - come on - nobody is allowed to question you pontifications - they either accept them or if they don't you give them a shed full of abuse often twisting the topic to dig the knife in further - prime example above -you cannot have it both ways.

What you need is the players - we simply do not have the players - one of the things we had was pace that is no longer the case - Diskin and Sinfield must be the slowest 9 & 13 in the league - McGuire is being beefed up to help his defence so he no longer has that burst of pace - we have no threat on the right hand side - if we are a top side we need to recruit like one.

McClennan has delivered in 18 months what Smith delivered in 18 months ie a GF and a WCC - time will tell whether he can deliver more.

We do have a drastic lack of speed in the team. When the Saints back line with two second rows and Wellens playing in it can make us look pedestrian (Gidley was never ever known for pace either), we are in trouble. Backs (bar Webb) and pack (bar JJB) look slow (Donald must think he's offended someone) to be banished to the right), but it is easier to look speedier if you are going forward, and we are not doing that as well as we could either.

I dont give a poop about being out of the cup. The mickey mouse trophy means nothing to me, I want the big one again. However, yesterday I was as gutted as I was when we lost the 2005 GF.

Over the last two years, when beaten by Saints we could always look to the fact of a bounce of a ball, or injures, and they were justified. Yesterday, we were simply over ran. The scoreline flattered us, and IMO the gulf in class was far greater than anything I have seen in the last couple of years with them.

Spot on. Ablett is better in the centre than Gibson - but Ablett is needed in 2nd row as we're a bit light there with no Eastwood. Senior is our only threatenning runner in the back line at the moment (not including webbs support play) which i think is making us too easy to defend against. I also think we miss the tackling of Ellis in the middle who put big hits in time after time.
