Don't get touchy Mark, I wasn't aiming at you, it was to various. And ok, lets just say he was one of Wigan's better players then, and that was a successful grand final winning team at the time. The point still remains, he was never the poor player some are making out, he has hit an issue since, and who knows he may well not get it back, but he certainly wasn't poor previously.

| Quote ="Les Norton"I’m not so sure that he was deemed not good enough for Warrington. I know that he suffered a very awful thing in his private life and hasn’t established himself there. I work with a Warrington fan, he seems a bit surprised by it all. He thinks that he just hasn’t hit it off with their coach for some reason.
I was a bit surprised that he left a Wigan tbh. He seemed like just there type of player when he was there, a bit niggly and aggressive.
But It sure is frustrating that our rivals are so far ahead of us and still seem to beat us to any quality players that come available.'"
just to put a bit of background on his time the h&J, we were quite surprised that he signed for us, like has been mentioned they beat us in the GF that year, but he also appeared to be a role playing prop, which worked well in wigan's system, it was a bit of a puzzler, though we had been down on props in 2016, sims and hill got us to the GF supported by an injured all year mitch dodds, ben evans was out injured and ben harrison, we ended up recruiting bailey and cox late on in pre season. so i think prop was a key area for tony smith.
As mentioned, he had a his family issue last year, which was terrible, but he had already missed a fair bit of time before that, he got a head knock in our opener against catalans and missed several weeks, he kept picking up little knocks and missing weeks, on the odd occasion he got on the field he looked alright, then came the off field stuff. He made a return from that a few weeks after and you could see his head wasn't there, he played awful and picked up another knock. The club told him to take as much time as he wanted with his missus. and missed the rest of last year, somehow injuring his shoulder in the process requiring an offseason surgery.
Steve Price came in and dom was one of the lead senior players in early pre season, we ended up getting told in january that steve price was hugely impressed with him and probably was the star of pre season and was expecting a big year for him. But again, he's been in 1 week and out 3.
He's just not going with us, under tony smith he probably would have got a contract extension for next year, but under price we're being incredibly strict, there's been rumours in league express about him joining both salford and hull kr.
Its a puzzler now cos we've not got the biggest squad and were already struggling slightly, george king has always been limited but he's been left behind by joe philbin this year, and you'd rather not see his name on the team sheet.
Personally i hope he gets on the field and gets some decent playing time for you guys.

To be fair that comment was probably made in jest - I recall there was a southstander caption competition in which Kylie was wearing a Santa hat, pictured alongside GH.
The resident wind-up merchant on the forum had been doing a good job of highlighting the lack of NRL games he had played prior to joining Leeds.

| Played well tonight albeit against a poor Widnes pack.
Be interesting to see how he settles.

| Looking like Crosby wants to make the move permanent. Must not have a anything set in stone elsewhere?

| I saw that. It would seem he hasn't actually signed for anyone else yet. We might have got to him after he's received an offer but not signed it.

| From a Wigan perspective, I always thought Dom a good solid prop. He's never likely to be the star of your pack but neither will he let you down. If he's over his injury/personal problems he'll go well for you in a dependable, understated way. Wigan would have kept him but Warrington offered much more money.

Well getting a 2 match ban has really helped him in trying to get an extended contract - NOT

| Yes our two new signings brought in to strengthen the pack haven`t actually done a lot since they arrived.
Has Thompson got one more game before he can play?
Our forwards are going to have to step up against London as I was impressed with their pack last week.

He was error-prone at crucial points in games though.
Looks to me like he has lost heart and is going through the motions - I don't know what his issues were but they have had a significant impact on his playing ability

It will depend who else is available, the standard of Super League is deteriorating year on year due to the massive salary cap in the NRL. The days of stars coming over to Super League are gone, Paul Gallen may come over to prolong his career, but recruitment has got much tougher.

No, i would keep him for next season at least, providing he is on the kind of money you would pay your 4th choice prop.

Depends on who the other 3 are...
Garbutt (frequently injured)
Singleton
???
Cuthbertson doesn't do enough of the tough stuff to play Prop for me, and Mullalley shouldn't be better than 4th choice himself. I'd say we are short of a top prop, and that Oledzski should go on loan for the full season next year to a championship club and play most weeks as a starting prop to help his development.

I'm not sure. He's certainly not ripping up any trees and seems defensively naive when I've seen him. The fact that he doesn't stand out in a struggling pack suggests he needs more development.

| You think he should be a stand out playing at prop, despite been 19 years old in his first season of Super League. Nothing like completely unrealistic expectations.

| He’s 19 years old, and has a huge amount of developing to do. He’s got a lot of promise but to expect him to do that developing in the first team at Leeds, with all the mistakes that come with it, is a huge ask when we have such a weak squad.
Expectation is very high at Leeds, he’d do well to spend 12 months out of the spotlight working on his game somewhere where he will get lots of minutes on the field, and be able to make his mistakes without the cost being so high.
We need to sign a prop to replace Galloway, and it needs to be an improvement on what we have at the club at the moment.

| I think young Mikolaj has stood out and has been very consistent all year. He's probably played too much for a prop his age but for me he's done a very solid job.
