11 and 12 were particularly odd , some games in 07 and 06 terrible especially the semi final. with the golden generation the sums were greater than the parts . Most of the original generation lasted a few years , walker and calderwood to union, diskin and mathers to injury , ward combusted , , bailey and jjb possibly regressed to squad .. Around the half back trio what we did do well was add the best available , webb , briscoe, jp, elliss , buderous , some turned out better than expected kylie, donald , delaney but the decade ended and began with freakish off loaders ali and cuthbo .. The worst thing has been ending up in relegation battles which while hard to criticize gh does appear some laurels were rested . Sts and wigan have consistently been top 3 but warrington haven't bought a league title and neither did we in the 80s and 90s ,,, we may yet finish outside the top 4 but this year we are looking a better attacking side again though we could have lost myler and leeming would have been out for most of te normal season , still not sure how much agar is a stop gap

I'd like Walker and Smith in our 17 but think it'll be too soon to throw them both in a semi final. Walker only played half a game and didn't pull up too well I believe after last night's game and I doubt Cam Smith's jaw has fully recovered to be involved in matches yet.

Reckon it will be that 17 with exception of Smith in for Cuthbertson. Cuthbo did too much graft last night to play on Saturday.

Cuthbertson will play,, otherwise that bench looks too light.

Looking like proper Grand Final weather tomorrow, normally I'd say have a safe trip over the top but these days stay safe on the couch seems more appropriate.

You and JR may be right, I’m not sure what the benefit of long minutes are for him 3 days before playing a tough team.

Massive test today for this group of players, Im not anticipating a win to be honest but Id like it to be close and for us to make a good fist of it, weve had a tirrid few years and to see them have a real dig in tough conditions is all i ask.

Agreed. They have 2 relatively small bench men as well. As you say hope Smith can get to the pace of what will be a very intense, aggressive Wigan (as ever).
Hoping SOL also feels the pace, great player and sure he will want to go out with a bang, in all senses.

I really like Smith but this a big ask to come back play well in such an important game against very good opposition.

Be v interesting to see hurrell on the right where hes best suited for me, helps his defensive positioning and think the conditions will actually refine his focus and limit his errors. Will see...

V good start. Middles are well on top. Keep to this game plan playing off leemings breaks and the territory is telling on wigan. Keep the ball in play too while wigan are struggling

I think I’ve got about as much breath left as the Wigan forwards. Very very good, excellent coaching and execution.
