It could be viewed as he doesn't want to see SL going down the route the NRL took for the previous three seasons which resulted in boring, negative rugby. Thankfully with two referees the NRL is back to free flowing attacking rugby that spectators actually want to watch - the crowds are well up this year.
Of course you were blinded by your predudice and unable to see that

Why would that be then? Because it means Leeds wont win SL if it descends into that?

Even a moron like L4L has correctly observed that the team with the highest dependency on dummy half running, Saints, have adapted successfully to a slower ruck and haven't skipped a beat.
Could it be that Potter is simply a better coach than McLennan? Imagine what Potter might've done last year with the championship side built by Tony Smith eh........

Correct. Thats why our national team fail when they play aussies and nz. We can't break down defenses when we're slowed down at the ptb. Saints are the biggest users of the quick ptb methods, but they've got more size in the backs and pack unlike us which is helping them at present with unlocking defenses when slowed down.

I actually agree with you.
All Hetherington has highlighted is that from an attacking skills level, either we don't have the players as good as the likes of Huddersfield, Wakey, Cas, or we don't have a coach able to use tactics as good as those coaches.
I say that since all teams are using the same defensive tactics, yet we have scored less points than the rest of the top 8, and less than Catalans and Warrington outstide it.

Just that.
It's the coaches record in head to head (just to satisfy G1's curiosity) meetings, so it incorporates Potter's stints at both Les Catalans and St Helens.

At the moment no - but the same could be said of Smith at certain times in his tenure - would you not agree - also Smith was never in a position where he lacked a natural right centre which even you must agree is a pretty crucial attacking position - you only have to look at Saints to see the importance of a quality right centre.
Saints have strengthened their squad unlike Leeds - who have weakened their squad. So given that they have finished top of the table for the last four years and have a stronger squad than last year you would not expect anything other than what has happened would you? - is Potter a better coach than McClennan possibly only time will tell. Is Potter a better coach than Tony Smith?
As I have said before which you consistently ignore McClennan's record in 2008 with the same team as Smith but with significantly more injuries outperformed Smith's record in every category - you can read into that what you will.
I will put on record now I think Leeds will make the GF if you don't think that will be case then some charity should benefit to the tune of £100 depending on the outcome.

How have Saints strengthened? Who have they signed? They have signed a similar number of players to us. That's excuse making for your idol right there it is.
I won't take your bet because I too believe that we will make the GF. I think the players are good enough to mask the coaches limitations and come playoff time Bluey's rah rah style will be effective and lift the players.
I am not the one indulging in knee jerk panics round here after a couple of April defeats.
I have, however, been the one to consistently give a fair and balanced critique of not only players but coaches alike. Coz I am well ace.

And what can be achieved without a left centre. Saints have one decent fill-in centre and one good one, much the same as Leeds do. The only difference is they are on opposite sides of the pitch.
