Don't get ahead of yourself there Adey, there can't be many times a season where your average Leeds fan wouldn't prefer someone else to win at Odsal than the home side.

...in fact, cut a deal with Catelans and Crusaders Quins and Huddersfield whereby a thousand or two of you lot turrn up as "rent-a-crowd", and they give you special privileges when you go to their places. You know it makes sense!

Good luck to the Bulls. It's a cunning ploy, but I suspect the "lost" fans are the bandwaggoners from when the Bulls were a force to be reckoned with, and I doubt that they will be dipping into their pockets until winning ways return to Odsal.

At £60, it's a bargain for your genuine Bulls fan, (only £5 per game for that 12 match loosing streak!

) and perhaps some recompense for the past season, although I wonder how long you could sustain charging so little.

Seeing as only one third of them were prepared to support a Yorkshire team in their Cup Final Poll, I'll pass on keeping such ungrateful and miserable sods in the same league as us!

The problem with the scheme as I see it is Odsal.

Even when I were able to take in games as a neutral (which I did 20 to 30 times a season in my pomp) Odsal was just no fun stood on the Rooley Lane Terrace. Although that was when league was a predominantly winter sport.

I hope they get the response they are looking for and it will be interesting to see if it's a viable alternative business model or a final act of desperation.

I know of three Leeds Rhinos current season pass holders who are getting a £60 Bulls season ticket for next year.

I'll say it again, it's going to cost you £20 to come over to Odsal and watch the League game.

So that means £40 for x 12 Super League games.

Friday can be Headingley and the Rhinos
Sunday can be Odsal and the whoever the Bulls are playing.

I genuinely hope they make the numbers required and in time to make the scheme viable. It sounds an absolute gem for the fans. If I were still living in Pudsey, I'd have had a couple of those without a second thought.

Although in the past I have often attended Bulls games as a neutral I have not had the free time to do so in the last couple of seasons and won't have any to do so next year I suspect. Therefore no pledge for me but I do wish them success with this initiative. I'd have though 10,000 season ticket holders, plus walk ups, plus in ground spends would be better (or the same) financially than the 6-7000 attendances they've been getting recently.

It doesn’t matter how your board dress it up and the positive spin put on it this looks like a means of securing a ‘promise’ of future revenue that they can be used to borrow against.

If this is such a great idea why haven’t all clubs applied this business philosophy?

Fantastic offer if you're a Bulls fan and good luck to them.

However, it does smack of desperation due to the dwindling crowds equating to poor income possibly less than required to break even. If Bulls fail to get the 10,000 needed, the future of the club could be in jeopardy, and no RL fan should want that.

Just a thought .... Would the 10k figure of give-away season tickets count as a point or two towards the next franchise ? People in high places at Odsal getting nervous ?

I'm not quite sure about the way this will work, but the general idea of getting more people into grounds is a good one. Do any other clubs have similar offers/discounts for season ticket holders of other clubs?
