I actually thought the move to Cas would make sense for all parties, but here we are.

He is a good player. Not back row for me, he annoys me there he has nowhere near the mentality of a forward IMHO. Centre is his best and he is OK there.

Not really in the bracket of Innes, Iro, Blackmore, Godden, Senior, Walker, Watkins... or even Ablett for me but certainly not rubbish either.

Not good enough to block the path of a youngster in my opinion.Assuming he isn't on a fortune he undoubtedly has a place in the squad because he can cover (adequately) quite a few positions. I wonder what's made him stay.he surely cant have been promised a starting position.

He seems a popular member of the squad and all that. I’d rather see Broadbent given a shot at centre but he might be another year off. We do need cover for injury.

With Newman injured and not being blessed with alot of options in that area maybe a safe pair of hands in that area is needed to give some of our kids a couple of seasons to develop. Maybe he'll suprise us this year but I'm not particularly excited about the new deal either.

Agree, adjust from Ablett. Surely you can't say Ablett was a better player at centre?
Also don't think he was ever really given a fair long run at centre, his versatility had perhaps worked against him over the years....

That is a little odd.maybe waiting for a time when the announcement will be used to distract us from bad news or excite us about the new season (although both scenarios seem unlikely).

I don’t like criticising players on talent because these boys are each one in ten thousand. It is a high standard to make first grade at a club like Leeds (most of the time!).

It makes sense to have an oven-ready centre to cover Newman with such a bad injury. Sutty can do a job at FB too which could be useful this year.

The real questions will be how long is our commitment and at what price.

Don’t think that’s the point ALAW is making. Like the positivity though but doubt we’ll be back to normal by April. Personally end of lockdown can’t come soon enough and I think a good proportion of people are suffering considerably because of it one way or the other.
