id be surprised if any of our top 25 go on loan, maybe Baldwinson or Lilley but i can't imagine they are on a meaningful salary

| TBF yes he was fortunate to make the England squad for the Kiwis series due to how much of the season he had missed through injury and if the likes of Walmsley, Ward, Joel Tomkins and George Burgess in the forwards weren't injured then he probably would've missed out. However when he did play he made the most of his chance and was the best 2nd rower for England.

| 12 month deal is perfect. Get Ward and Delaney 100% and give Ablett a bit of a rest. If Ferres proves his worth, he stays. If he doesn't, he's gone. Everyone's a winner (except Ferres if he doesn't play well!) Another master stroke from GH.

Don't recall much outrage on here, or even surprise, when Ablett didn't get an England call.
As for Ferres, I certainly wouldn't claim that he's a world beater. However, I am interested to see whether he can fulfil his potential in a more challenging environment than he's been used to.

Exactly. The way Ferres adapted onto the international scene since the WC though is what makes me believe he will thrive moving to a much bigger club.

The chip on the shoulder that poster and a few other Hudds fans over on that board still have over Leeds' LLS win being portrayed as a bigger thing (and rightly so) than when they won it in 2013 is massive.
They seriously can't (or don't want to) recognise the fact that under the new format it made winning the LLS much tougher especially with reaching Wembley beforehand, add to it we then went on to lift the GF. Hudds won it because Wigan downed tools as soon as they reached the cup semis and saved themselves for that and the playoffs where they comfortably beat Hudds. Must kill some of them that they can't say they denied us the treble when it looked like it had slipped away.

its silly to pretend our achievement in winning the LLS was more impressive than Hudds. It wasnt really. Winning the treble was.
Had WIgan beat us in the GF would we be celebrating a magnificent season? not really.
Had we drawn with Hudds and still won the GF would anyone care about the LLS?
I remember that night before Hall went over and i remember thinking that a CC, Championship double was still a fitting tribute to the boys and if we win at old trafford tonight will be forgotten.
I also remember when Hall went over that the treble was still on rather than great we won the LLS
Put it another way, Hudds beat us in that game, and Cas beat Wigan, are any of us sat here thinking 'Wow Hudds were great, what an achievement'?

I would have been more than happy with 2 of the 3 trophies on offer & in the final for the third
Had we drawn with Hudds and still won the GF would anyone care about the LLS?
Only insofar as we would not have achieved the pinnacle of the treble
Put it another way, Hudds beat us in that game, and Cas beat Wigan, are any of us sat here thinking 'Wow Hudds were great, what an achievement'?
No, I would think that Huddersfield deserved the LLS as they had accrued more league points than anyone else, and that we had blown it after the CC final

| I agree, which highlights that the LLS is still the third most important of the trophies we won and only really gained added importance as part of a treble.

I would agree, while the LLS we won was harder to win than when Shudds won it due to the new structure of the 8's it's still for me the least desirable cup to win for me and only really takes on significance when teamed with a GF win or the treble

| Yes, if this happened, and that happened, and we lost this game and Wigan won that game........

So basically you are doing exactly what they mock you for doing. Its important when Leeds win it, not important when someone else does.

| To my knowledge (please put me right if otherwise), no one has claimed that the LLS is anything other than the lowest ranked trophy of the three. It is, however, still one of only 3 trophies available - with added significance when making up a treble.
All I have seen is posters saying that it is harder to achieve the LLS under the new system as opposed to the old. On balance, I would say that is probably the case. Take the case of Huddersfield in 2013 - they had won sweet FA in 38,000 years, so one could reasonably argue that it was a big target once they were within sight. The likes of Leeds, Warrington & Wigan, on the other hand, possibly had their eyes on bigger prizes - all speculation I know, but not beyond the realms.
