I would bet every last penny in my wallet that if Leeds were 12-2 down, a man down and were awarded a kickable penalty, they would run it, and go for the try!
That's why we're Champions

Thanks for the confidence we will be in the Northern rail as SL world champs you seemed to have some difficulty yourselves taking on a scratch side hay ho though Leeds are more holier than others these days.'"
Sorry guys unreserved apolgies JJB was way onside, without my glasses I got the numbers mixed up, I thought it was JJB but it was Burgess in any event both were onside so no complaints.

| I love it when we beat Wakey – our boards get inundated with Wildcats making poor excuses as to why the lost.
It would be so bad if they regularly beat us but they don’t so it’s shizer excuse after shizer excuse.

| My overview:
Smith - Solid and classy, this lad is really developing. Brave effort. Faultless goal-kicking.
Donald - Came to life in the second half, acted as SO in attack in last 15m to get some work.
Ablett - Did the job.
Watkins - Unlucky knock.
Hall - Another lad who seems to get better with more game time.
Allen - Worked his balls off.
McGuire - Not the best. Struggled to lay a platform and his general kicking game was poor.
Leulaui - Hard as. His kinda game.
Diskin - Lively and pro-active. Won the hooking battle.
Peacock - Better than last week, awsome leg drives.
Kirke - My pick of the pack, he's starting to do serious damage to teams.
Ali - Always a threat, shame to see him not able to return.
JJB - Wears his heart on his sleeve, dug in.
Buderus - First run out in 6 months, nicely weighted pass for the game-breaker.
Burgess - Ran strong, stepped into the Scruton role well.
Gibson - Good to see him out there. Lovely conversion.
Bailey - Wound Wakie up, won a penalty also as well as leading with the elbow. First run out in months also.

Agree with most of that but the hooking battle was won hands down by Drew, Diskin is a quality player and now he'sgot Buderus to learn off I can't wait to see the finished article in a couple off years time.

Some Leeds fans are truly vile and pathetic, but let's rise above the cretins like Logun and LS16_Rhino - they are trolls and poor ones at that, they are clearly thick as two short planks. I know tons of decent Leeds fans who are fine and were very complimentary. I suspect at least one of the trolls mentioned is ranting on this thread because his stupidity has seen him banned of the Trinity site so he can't troll there.
It was a decent game which we never really looked like winning, but all told we gave a good Leeds team a hard game. They were missing a few and we were missing a few more end of. Why these individual are so insecure only someone qualified could explain.

Fair play, thought you might have meant that but wasn't too sure . No matter what though Diskin has now got a real master of his trade to work with now so I fully expect him to push on and become Englands no.1 hooker.

And with McShane waiting in the wings, we have quite a bit of talent in that position. We've had about 3 hookers in 18 years, so it makes a nice change.

I think their responses are in response to Wakefield fans showing insecurities to be honest.
There seems to be a general consensus of everybody is against us from Wakefield supporters.

Not really, we have a few who moan but most are like any other fans. There is a bit of a siege mentality at Wakey but that is not the same thing nor is it a bad thing it works for us. I think a lot of this boils down to a couple of games Klien reffed in which some people confused Kliens poor performance with Leeds brilliance on the night and got a bit carried away. I think we all shudder at the infamous petition idea But all fans get carried away and forget that despite our percieved opinion on the ref the other team still had to beat us and did.
My general opinion on Leeds fans on here is that they are a bit arrogant and won't give credit where it is due. This I think is partly due to a siege mentality you yourselves used to have when you were branded the great under achievers. However I'm sure they are in the minority.
My general opinion on the Leeds club is that they have done exceptionally well in the last 10 years, especially considering the previous 20 years of abject failure. You are now a credit to the game.
However some Leeds fans need to be a little bit humble and at least accept they are a club that already has a large advantage over the rest.
Leeds is a massive city and a wealthy one. Since the demise of United you face little competition in the huge population area you control. You have a lot of money and you always have. Headingley is no longer the best stadium in RL but it's still a prize asset. None of this is your fault or anything to be ashamed of or for others to criticise it's just a fact of life.
Wakefield is a small city who's supporter base is spilt into three.
Truth is if Trinity get a new stadium, develop a great youth system, get a good sponsor and attract crowds similar to you in percentage terms and do everything right. We will still be hard pressed to compete all that often. Especially nowadays where money counts more than ever.
I can live with it so long as we get credit when we deserve it. We deserved it on friday, so called bigger and better teams will lose at Headingley by bigger margins that us. We gave you a game and that is all anyone can ask for from the opposition team.

and in a nutshell, this is the problem with Rugby League in the UK, bar two or three driven clubs, and 4 or 5 driven people, too many people at levels from top to bottom, from BARLA, to Chairmen to fans too many people are just happy to be here
When clubs like Wakefield stop coming to headingley wondering about how to save face, and start wondering how to win, maybe they can make a contribution,
Being here is never enough, anybody pretending it is is simply a drain on the sport,
If Wakefield cant do what leeds do but better, then they do something different, there is no excuse for failure in sport

I agree with that.
I myself had to endure the taunts for many years as we underacheived and I do tend to rub it in a bit now. Its 30 years of hurt i'm afraid.
The johny come latelys that have only started supporting Leeds since we won something and dont know what its like to be unsuccessful have no right to be so condescending to other clubs IMO.

Good point. Leeds have been through the mill over the years even in recent time I remember when Dean Bell had to play against PSG and then scored to keep us in SL. I forget the year, someone will tell me. But even so that was relitively recently.
You are quite correct that the Johny come latelys should not be condescending to other clubs and to be fair neither should the 'old hands'.
We have always been lucky that we have a great club with a proud tradition and even in the dark times we had that to fall back on.
I think my point is that just because when we were down and got a kicking does not mean that now we are up we should be doing the same because as Leeds itself has proved, what goes up, does come down (and then back up again).
Or is my point I have been out in the desert too long?

SL 1 1996.
Leeds were in no real danger of relegation that season thanks to Workington's presence.
