| It's actually a positive that we still won, despite that second half.....
We can improve.
1) Walker coming back in
2) Myler playing too well to be dropped, is give him a few games in the halves with Gale.
3) Cam Smith needs to come back in for big minutes. Was great pre injury.

| Quote ="christopher"We had two injuries disrupt how we were planning on playing, went behind, had the patience to get back level then had the smarts to set up two match winning plays.
We weren’t great by any stretch but ‘terrible’ and ‘pathetic’ is not a good description at all, unless for some reason even when we win a trophy you want to have a go at the club.
Salford also played very well but weren’t smart enough at the crucial times.
Of course we deserved to win'"
100% agree we lost a middle fwd Briscoe also went off & then went behind to a Team who rarely lose when they take lead of a game late on.
Also they played with zero pressure , our lads regrouped got stuck in & took the deserved win it wasnt terrible or pathetic it was finals RL & our kads deserve all the acolades.

I hate to say this but I`ve pretty much disagreed with practically all your posts and assumptionsthis year.
Now that doesn`t make you wrong but find it funny this seems to be the case.
With Myler back in the halves it pretty much puts us back where we were before.Disjointed and no link between the forwards and the backs.
Myler`s best position is FB and Walker and Myler can share that role until the end of the season for me.
Smith`s last couple of games imo was poor although prior to that was reasonably good.
But each to their own that`s what this site is all about

| Yeah I'm not a fan of putting Myler back in at HB either. For me we have 2 sides running alternately for the remainder of the season pretty much, and Walker is FB in one side and Myler the other. I want players playing IN position where we can, and if Myler was only going to play half at Leeds I'd have let him go, personally.
There is an argument to bring in Holroyd, Smith and Walker against Saints - in the hope those boys are a) fresh and b) want to prove a point. It also tells them that they very much are in "the plan", which they may need to be signalled now I don't know. The Saints game is a big one for me: win it and we might have a tilt at the grand final, lose it and it looks very difficult. It's almost like an early eliminator (for us!).
As I've said before though, the problem with swapping Myler and Walker is they're just very different players, and the rest of the team has to adapt.
I do see what people are saying about the tactics of throwing Saints and focusing on the more "winnable" games.
The other side of this is that Saints have had 2 weeks so are fresh yes - but that weekly intensity can sometimes be a benefit. We've seen this in Grand Finals before...

If he wasn't fit also then I presume it would be Myler. Walker I don't think hands the hands for 6. Broadbent probably does but I doubt he would be in before Mclelland and Myler.

Personally i wouldnt be letting Tommy, Walters or Muizz anywhere near Alex Walmsley at this stage. I think it could do more harm to them than good. I want to see them feature in strong teams before the season is out but i want it to benefit them not hinder their confidence.
Games coming so thick and fast now its going to be silly season for all clubs. Plenty of opportunities for lads to play between now and the end of the season. Saints are the big misters of SL and we need to match that with experience i feel.

| I think for the remainder of the season we should look to rotate but keep the team similar match to match rather than have a team 1 and team 2.
Look to have first teamers do 2 games in , 1 game off and rotate the kids in to fill the gaps.
Anyone who has a niggle, or this week has celebrated a bit hard to get a rest, but be ready for the next game.

You're right it is a fine line. Some of them have already played Chris Hill who is right up there still.
I think the key is not to hide them but not to over-expose them. Playing seasoned, physical pros week on week might not do much for your confidence. Tommy can hold his own just about anyway although it must be hard coming from Academy where he bulldozered everyone into the brick walls in SL. Huge gap.

Absolutely. The younger side performed honorably in the Cats and Wire games, sending the same out v Saints is a push too far and would do more harm than good. Holroyd in for Cuthbertson, Smith in and maybe another in where needed and valuable. Either way im intrigued to whats calls will come out of the camp and their approach to the next few games.

| Hopefully it is the youth rotated in rather than Ferres, Thompson, Evans and Harrison. These four should only come in to fill gaps that cannot be filled by the youngsters.

Complete stab in the dark really. Interesting few weeks ahead- clearly focussing on certain games!
I for one hope Agar comes out as a tactical genius and takes us to a grand final just for the pure wind up factor....

Think if we had our full choice 17 out against saints it'd be a tough task at securing 2 points. Rest majority of our best 17 for Cas on Monday and go from there squad rotation is gonna really kick in now with hectic fixture list.
