| Can see McGuire going tbh.
Clark & Aiton would need to both start, so Burrow reverts to SH. You've also got young Sutcliffe as well competing for space in the halves.
Add to that that McGuire is more injury-prone (until this year) than both Sinfield & Burrow, and that he doesn't bring what either of them do (Kev's kicking & passing game, Burrow's support play & speed around the ruck) it'd be worthwhile moving him on.

Along with Burrow being able to play hooker if we an injury there with Sutcliffe then starting in the halves.
* a season long loan for Robbie Ward next year would be ideal too if we can find the right club for him to go to.

| I still think McGuire has a lot to offer Leeds, and has looked pretty good in games I've seen this season, albeit without grabbing the headlines. I'd like to think McGuire would end his playing career at Leeds, with Sutcliffe to come in whenever the decision is made.
That said, the golden generation can't soldier on forever. I would have said there are other more obvious survivors from the 2004 team to be shipped out first though - Ryan Bailey and JJB in particular. Of the spine of the team McGuire is probably the easiest to replace with the personnel already in place at the club.

Not a bad post, some pertinet points raised too.
Would Danny be prepared to "Do a Wellens" ie be willing to come on from the bench and not be the star man even?
For me he's far from done at Leeds, but does need to realize that he's not the spring chicken he once was and using team mates around him sometimes is the better option.
More of a tune up of his game rather than sending him off to the knackers yard.

| Quote ="Gotcha" (Snip) Apparently Warrington pulled out of a deal due to financial restrictions at their side.'"
Financial restrictions? Our owner is Simon Moran a local man who loves his rugby. His company puts on about 2,000 shows a year as well as co-owning the T in the Park and V Festival. He's involved with Take That amongst other bands and he is involved in the management of major London venues including the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and O2 Brixton Academy. Where is the financial restrictions at Warrington. He puts FREE travel on for away cup games.
There is a story that Warrington paid Castleford a fee in order to save them from financial difficulty about 2 years ago with the deal for Clarke coming to Warrington later down the line. It's all rumours at this time but financial restrictions will only apply if we're buying major signings in other positions.
Just saying!

| FFS. There's been a salary cap in RL for years now you know.
Not to mention the fact that people with a lot of money generally don't just chuck it away. Warrington won't have carte blanche to just spend what they want.

| McGuire leaving? I really can't see, he's been pretty good this season. His qualities are still pretty undervalued by many fans IMO.
The only rumour I can see coming off is the cuthburtson one, bails may well end up at cas but I can't see us landing Clark, although it would be an awesome signing

| Have said before elsewhere Clarke would be a great signing. If it [iis[/i at the expense of McGuire moving on I would take it. Sadly all great players do decline in their effectiveness (unless you're Peacock.....or even Leualai at the moment.....of course).
McGuire hit his peak in the season which unfortunately ended so tragically with that infamous 'pies' professional foul.
Hope Burrow is staying....BUT, throw in Bailey and Kirke too....job's a good un.

Achurch has taken the opportunity with both hands
I'd like to think jjb will struggle to get back into the team at present And will have to earn it rather than just be given his place back straight away

| Achurch or JJB???
At the moment I'd have to say Achurch, which surprises me a little. He's offering much more than JJB does - I'll admit that he doesn't have JJB's work-rate but wins more of the collision, runs better lines and doesn't bump up the penalty count so much.

| My concern at the start of the year with Achurch was if he'd be good enough defensively (remember poor efforts vs Melbourne and Hudds in the CC) but I have to say he's been very good since he's got into the side this season in that department.

| Was Bailey injured for last night's game?
If not, his absence even from the 17, given Peacock's unavailability, speaks volumes IMO about his long-term future at Leeds.

With luck McD has become fed up of his antics and has taken the decision to ship him out to a club that will accomodate his baggage and continual under performance.
It sticks in the throat that we have given Bailey more than enough chances to make the most of what talent he may have yet have been quick to discard the likes of Amor who is now x3 times the prop Bailey is.

| I said several weeks ago I could not make up my mind about Achurch, this because he was not given enough game time.
The more game time he is given he seems to be improving week by week.
As for bailey, I used to be a big fan, but at the moment I don't know what's up with him.
With a bit of luck and application from him he may come good at the business end of the season. I hope for his sake that happens.
If not its best for everbody if he moves on.

Agreed.
Regarding Achurch I also think been given the game time has improved him, but also been used in the back row as appose to sub prop as he was last year.

Along with his all round fitness. He started last night and did the opening 55-60 mins, he wouldn't have managed that last year.

Yet he was complaining last year about not enough game time, and not used to playing short spells, which was effecting him. Year before he was playing much more rugby, excelling, and why he came to Leeds attention.
