I think that should happen this year with us mate.
I don't think JP ,kylie and the inconsistent Kirke more the latter 2 are up to week in week out SL as they proved last year and i certainly wouldn't have Kylie and JP in the same 17 anymore.
I accept he's still a pup and raw but his undoubted potential should be enhanced with us now and not make the same mistake we made with Amor.

| Can look at it two ways really,
disappointing that he isnt getting first team games with us this season
or, its an indication that the loss of JP, Kirke and Kylie next year means that the coaches want and expect Singleton to be making a significant contribution next year. 20/25 games getting plenty of minutes at the coalface at Wakefield will better prepare Singleton to be a frontline prop for Leeds next year, than getting 10 games when the likes of JP, and Kylie have taken the lead.

| I'm surprised that Leeds have opted to eke another year out of JP and Kylie; I've got huge respect for both of them, but you can only get so much juice out of one orange.
Moore and Griffin at Leeds I've never quite understood - both are inconsistent, for different reasons; Moore is a workhorse but with very limited ability and Griffin is capable but lazy. In my view, both are too long in the tooth to learn new tricks.
All that said, with so many forwards on the books, Singleton to us seems like a good deal all round; we need cover in the forwards and he needs game time - if he turns out to be anything like Amor, I'd hope that we'd make a play for him for next season but for now, a decent bit of business, certainly from our point of view.

| Good move for all involve.
As some have stated he will be way down in the pecking order for leeds with kylie, jp, griffin, moore, bailey, kirke and achurch... Where as hell be 5th choice at Wakey and could easily get in the first team with injuries etc.
Wakey get a good young player.
Leeds get their player first team games.
Singleton gets game time.
Win win situation

End of 2013 I believe according to Frosties squad list which is a worry. I'd be happier with this arrangement if there was an announcement before stating that Brad had signed a 3 year extended contract.
Without this I think there could be a risk this turns out like the Amor arrangement

I can't imagine any scenario when i would prefer to have the younger Amor in my side ahead of even an aging Peacock...just no comparison.

he would be there to compliment him not replace him. amor, like singleton is miles better than kirke, griffin and moore.

| got to agree Tad, while in theory nothing wrong with getting Brad some game time I personally think he should be learning his trade with us as I also thought we should have with Amor. We will have to wait and see and trust the management that have so far delivered the silverware.

Again I have to agree.
I know the club probably proved most of wrong again last season by winning the GF yet again and I am a little more reticent to contest that the club management knows best.....it remains a real puzzle that Kirke, Griffin and Moore were all preferred to Amor (and Ambler) and now apparently Singleton too
The dichotomy of the exciting young back line when measured against the ageing pack makes the decisions even more of a conundrum.

he won't get 20/25 games - 5/10 if he is lucky. And that for a 20 year old is more than enough.

Not really, in the backs we've had genuine exciting talents like Hall, Hardaker and Watkins that came through. In the forwards, Amor, Pitts, Ambler may have done a decent job but certainly weren't exciting talents.

They still can be exciting talents. Talent doesn't just mean having a good offload or a great kicking game, it means being skilled at whatever job it is that player is out there to do whether it be the fancy stuff or the hard stuff.
If a prop can be a better hard nosed tough bstard than most other props in the league then i'd still describe him as an exciting talent.

| For whatever reason, Amor set his sights on playing for Wakey. As Clint Eatwood said: "A man's got to know his limitations". Hopefully Singleton has more about him.

Wigan and Hull wanted him- he snubbed them, we gave him the chance and he is showing his bit of loyalty so hardly think that constitutes as him knowing his limitations!

Perhaps. Care to name a player who's exhibited similar loyalty to a team finishing regularly in the lower half of the table and who can be considered as being top-notch? The best players have usually chosen to play for the best teams available to them.

| Personally I think the plan is about bringing him up to the task of playing SL week in week out. If he can prove himself at Wakie then I can see him being a major feature next season.
The reason could br that kirke kylie Moore and griffin are battle hardened and used to playing every week in SL. You don't just reach that level over night it takes a few years of having lumps knocked out of you on a weekly basis.

| Only time will tell whether or not letting Brad go to Wakey will prove to be a success or not, I would have loved to see him playing for us next season without a doubt, but if he was only going to get minimal game time then that would be a season wasted in his development compared to getting regular games for Wakey IMO
My only hope is that he does get plenty of minutes each week at the Wildcats but that he makes such a success of his appearances there that he is a big part of our 2014 plans and not Wakey's
It's a Big year for Singo without a doubt

If Singleton signs for Wakefield he will push hard for a place on the bench when Wilkes, Raleigh and Amor are fit & Poore not suspended. Thats more than what he'll get at Leeds again this season probably.

How will he. Those 4 play then he doesn't. We have plenty of better bench players than this rookie. He's played one game in SL get a grip.
Your obsession with this lad is getting ridiculous, are you his dad or agent? He's not bound to be a success like Amor, despite your touching belief that he will. I hope he does well, and the recommendations from the sensible posters on here bode well, but it's basically a punt.
Give it a rest please.
