| Quote ="Lord_Percy"Early indications are that there is a very late train back to Leeds, leaving Kings Cross at 23.30, arriving about half one. Of course they could change the timetable before then, but at least it's an option.
Another thing I've just noticed is Huddersfield, Widnes and Warrington away are on consecutive weekends around the end of June.'"
7.45 k.o. means approx 9.20ish finish. Can we be certain of hitting King's Cross for 23.30?
And that trifecta of mega -ups could be a fun time.

Two hours to get across London, easily do-able I reckon, but obviously it means missing the bar out post-match.
As for the away days, I'm already thinking one of them (Widnes) might have to be a bit more sedate than previously.

| Just realised, I think Huddersfield away is going to be a no-go for me, assuming I go to Le Mans that's the date I'd miss. This just keeps on getting better and better

He goes through the bins at Red Hall.

No he should not. But when has that ever stopped him in the past?

| Shock horror. Each team plays the other teams home and away with an extra game in Manchester.
Fantastic.

It will. Compared to the sell outs it has most weeks.

I'll answer on his behalf considering it was me who brought the issue up in the first place. My view is [i"don't shoot the messenger"[/i. It is ultimately the responsibility of the RFL to secure their precious information until the preferred date and time of release.
Might be an idea for them to hold a media conference to announce the fixtures to all and sundry at the same time. Instead, they prefer to extract the urine under the guise of marketing by drip-feeding a restricted few nuggets of information to their compliant and unquestioning supporter base whilst offering the lot to their mates and associates with an embargo attached. These full fixture lists have been known for days by anyone with even the most tenuous club or media links to the RFL who, I am sure, have taken advantage of such insider knowledge like planning an away trip to Catalan for instance.

Are you accusing them of being a super league dripping-boy rabble?

Absolutely
They'll be drip-feeding the new England World Cup shirt design next!

It's white, with red trim, possibly in the shape of a cross and looks unusually chavvy even for a sports shirt.
I have no insider knowledge, but extrapolated this from studying every other shirt since we reverted to England from GB.
I don't understand the fuss about releasing fixtures. We'll play everyone home and away at some point. I have no idea why it's considered exciting enough to need an embargo or a press conference.

The only fixture I'd like to know about ahead of the crowd is Catalan away - budget airlines use a sliding price scale where the more people to book the flight the more expensive it gets. Getting in early can save you a few quid and give you a better chance of booking a decent hotel.
Also, if the Magic weekend was in a reasonably different location, i.e. not Manchester but Cardiff or Edinburgh, hotel availability and prices can vastly vary on an 'event weekend'. Booking before the announced date can be beneficial.

Regarding the fixtures shame Catalan is on Easter Monday.

It also comes the week after the Challenge Cup Semi Finals .... Assuming we go to Wembley yet again, will most fans give the game a miss in favour of the expense getting to the capital again around three weeks later ?

| Quote ="gulfcoast_highwayman"I too am rather unhappy about that one. Catalans away is at a rubbish time of year, and that London one is just crap. A Monday night, away in the capital? Who the hell will go? Hotels won't even be cheap, as it's not a weekend.'"
When Catalans first joined the league, we were given the short straw of about their first or second home games of the season and then there was a threat of a boycott if we didn't go in the Summer.
We've had a couple of games during August and now we're back to early Spring again ... When are we going to get May / June dates over there ?
