| Webb should have played his last game for Leeds (hopeless)....Hardaker no contest. Keinhorst did enough for another run at LC.
All pretty academic again unless we get the forwards sorted and competing. If we don't take back Amor then the person(s) responsible must be blind. Griffin was the best of a poor bunch.

Hopefully his last game ever in a Rhinos shirt. The days of BW is Superman are long gone. He now plays the role of The Joker. Take him over to Catalans in a few weeks time and leave him there!

I don't think he was. We could have lined up with Hardaker at FB, Keinhorst at centre and then Ward at scrum half, which is how we finished the game.
Edit: With Lunt on it was probably Burrow at scrum half and Ward at loose.

Not true. McDermott was on radio Leeds yesterday saying Webb was so important he wanted to get him back into the team, even though Hardaker had been playing so well there.

| Well, given Webb's arm into the jaw of the Wakefield player 30 seconds in (our first penalty) I can see him getting 2-3 weeks ban from the RFL, so that problem will be solved.
Hopefully we'll have Ablett, Delaney & Bailey all back for KR, then we can give JJB & Kylie a week off.

| Webb was very good in the GF last year apart from one duff moment. He was also excellent for the most part in the WCC. I'm not suggesting he should replace Hardaker at fullback for the rest of the year, but he has been a great player for Leeds, and even if he doesn't play again deserves better than some of the rubbish on here.

| Like I have been saying all season, Webb at his best was a joy to watch and has helped us win some big games. He's by far the best Full Back I have personally seen in the 1 shirt at Leeds. That being said, there is no room for sentiment in sport and after what has been on show this season he shouldn't play again for Leeds. Hardaker has looked pretty awesome at FB and IMO is the future 1 so why play a player who is 2 years past his best and a liability when you have very good young talent already there.

| Just a really bad performance, Wakey were very good and deserved their win.
What Clarkson has done not to get selected ahead of Hauraki needs to be understood? JJB needs 2/3 weeks off he was terrible last night, the 4/5 penalties he gave away didn't help his team, although I'm sure rumours at Stanningley will say this was part of the game plan Playing Kirke at 13 didn't really work he missed two tackles for two of the tries. On the positive Kleinhorst looked really good - a long shot for the final!! Hopefully Webb is not seen again his performance was a sad sight to see for a player who had added much to the success of this side. Starting Peacock and Kylie together is a mistake and Griffin needs to be starting.
What it does show is how important the likes of Ablett and Bailey are to the team and maybe the older players only have so many good games left in them.

| Was hopeful (although not confident) that seeing someone else excel in his FB position whilst he was out injured would bring out the best in Webb on his return but sadly not, possibly(hopefully) played his way out of a Cup Final place. Hauraki also showed that we should stick to the 17 that beat Wigan if all are fit for the final.

| Webb was awful last night and needs to get his head screwed on if he is to play again.Good thing is Mac dragged him off and kept him off so im sure he got the message.
Webb wasnt the only one though.Powder puff defence all round,Hauraki and Moore have proved they just cant cut it at top level.JJB turning into a penalty machine. The biggest one for me though is the complete lack of structure in the side and desire to work for each other in a weekly round...Again!!
There were a few pluses though.Keinhorst looked solid.Ward continues his fine development.Pack was mostly dominated but despite what people have said i think JP was our best pack man making plenty of hard yards.Oh,and surely Amor gets recalled after that.....

Sadly true......now if only we could persuade Peacock and Kylie to retire gracefully this year.

For putting Webb in the starting line-up.
It was almost as if he was on a mission to undermine the entire performance - I know it was his first game back for 6 weeks but even allowing for that, he was just plain awful.
We lost Burrow for about 20 minutes and I think he would have been spelled but McD had the option to either sub him for Webb or leave him on the pitch being completely ineffective - he chose the latter. If McD had not picked Webb he'd have been able to get Rob off the pitch and we'd have had a full compliment of players actually playing.

| Webb has certainly played himself out of a Wembley appearance and I wouldn't be surprised if, barring injuries and suspensions, he isn't seen in a Leeds shirt again.
The frustrating part is that most of the penalties given away don't fall into the 'dirty' or 'niggly' categories, the just fall into the 'you bloody idiot' category. Either Webb can't control his emotions of he's just plain thick - either way, last night showed just how much of a disruptive influence he has become.
Thanks for the memories Brent, but you've clearly outstayed your welcome.

| I remember a dodgy last performance by Scott Donald against Wigan in the play-offs 2010, which was hardly signing off in style.
Webb will play again at some point and hope when the chance comes he can finish on a high.
Thought Mac made the right call to drag him off, it was far from his night. Put him out of his misery.

Too True.
And JJB with his 1/2 pens a game from his 'not so' crafty ball steal is starting to grate.A bit like Keef with his regular holding down penalty on the 4th/5th tackle,so annoying!!!

| It's wrong to be loyal to a player because he has been good for us in past seasons. That is, if you want to be a successful club. If a player isn't performing then he shouldn't be part of the first team.
Webb is a liability now. His heart is clearly not in it and he should be dropped for players who take playing for Leeds Rhinos more seriously.

How can you claim JP was ineffective? He made good ground and plenty of tackles. JJB did seem to be trying quite hard to get on the wrong side of the ref but again did a big tackling stint including a try saving tackle on Sykes (I think).
Got to agree with you about Hauraki, Webb and the mixed performance of Sinfield but I note you still cannot resist to pursue your anti McDermott campaign at the first chance. Webb and Hauraki cost us plenty and Moore and one or two others fell short but credit Wakefield who gave a good account of themselves. We badly missed the go forward and defence of Delaney and Ablett and the lack of McGuire was another factor.
Our defence around the ruck was very poor but in the end it was the errors and lack of possession IMO that cost us the points and that is not the coaches fault.

How slow was JP's ptb and after 25 minutes how effective was he other than plodding forward and then getting put on his back more often than not?
No doubt his stats will look good but they dont account for painstakingly slow ptb and been well handled by the Wakefield pack.
Also WHO selects the team and decides the rotation with the bench?
Is Brian Mc totally blameless for leaving Hauraki on ,selecting Webb ,or leaving JP on for the best part of an hour again when clearly blowing out of his arris?
Fair play i though it was great to see him ditch Webb to the bench but why have 2 SR's at LC at times when we had a LC on the bench now dont go into youth and debut rubbish he was good enough to be selected so should start and ZH should have stayed at FB as his form suggested he should.
Your last sentence is spot on to a point but the coach isn't blameless and whilst i think that i'll post as such no anti agenda just what it is clearly going on.
Just a final one JC what did you think of Mc's call to reintroduce RB after his bellringer??
