What are Cas doing that is so different?
They have only played one game away from hom so far that can be classed as an away game. That one game was a defeat, against a poor side.
At home they have played a top challenging side in Huddersfield, but also played two very poor cellar dwellar sides in Catalans and Crusaders. Then add in playing Wakefield at MM at the best possible time to be playing a poor Wakey side.
I have made no secret in the past that I go to watch a fair few Cas matches per season, and they are playing well. But they have been far from tested in any game as yet.

| Quote ="Remarkable_Rhinos"Wakefield were dire. 40 minutes of total dominance, 10 of those with a one man advantage, and they had 4 points to show for it.
Don't get me wrong, we did pretty well defending on some instances, but most other teams (especially Wigan!) would've finished that half with at least 20 points to their name.'"
Interesting because that's how it sounded exactly on Radio Leeds.
Personally I ask if Leeds have the defence to compete. You've been poor in that department this year. 24 points a match being conceded compared to Wigan's 14. If we defend to our usual standard then we will have enough in attack to win. If it ends up an offensive shoot out then this plays into Leeds hand I reckon.
Bad as our result was against Warrington, I don't actually think our defence was too bad and Warrington did put in a top draw performance. Not sure this current Leeds side has that in them at the moment. But we shall see, I mean Wigan consistently went to Leeds and won (in regular season) when it was Leeds being Champions and us chasing the top.....

| Hall, who was beaten in the air by Shenton against Saints, was questionable yesterday under the high kick. So could be interesting against Wigan!
In the first half on at least 2 occasions he failed to get off the ground. Wingers generally are confidence players and I'm pleased to report that in the 2nd half, he took 2 belting bombs which should build his confidence in this area.

We don't have the defence to compete. That's exactly what I'm saying. Any other team would've hammered us in the first half at the weekend.
Totally agree with what you're saying.

| Quote ="Gotcha"Is that really the case though?
I think people are preparing themselves a little too much for dissapointment.
I don't for one minute think Leeds are playing well, but then again I also don't think they are playing as badly as people are saying. Infact they could play the exact same way as yesterday on another day with the ball sticking to hand, and posters would be calling them unbelievable.
For the record Leeds problem this season has been their defence, which was much improved this week. Wigan on the other hand have so far scored 72 points less than Leeds, accepted a game less played. There are only two teams in the league who have scored less points than Wigan (again accepted a game less), one of those been Wakefield.
Wigan's attack is not clicking, and the reality is that their very key attacking threat in Tomkins is been found out slightly. Leeds have to repeat what other teams have done this year in that regards. To add to this they have two players over the last two games who have looked simply shocking under high balls. So certainly Wigan have their weakness's just as much as they have their threats.
Personally I think if we can get Smith and Delaney back this week, Leeds will be in a much stronger position than they have previously, although Burgess will be a major loss.'"
IF is a very big word. IF the ball sticks we'll be trotting out at OT in October, but to be honest I've not seen anything so far that gives me any great confidence that we will improve any time soon. It is early doors in the season admitedly, and there's nowt to be won in March. I'm just not to sure that the coaching staff and all the players are singing off the same song sheet.
Wigan's defence is in a class of its own, and its defence that wins matches. Agreed their attack is on a par with ours, but for the first time ever, I do think we could catch a backlash this Friday. I'll be delighted to be proved wrong though, and I hope to see us competing, no matter what the final score is.
If either of the Tomkins brats gets a slap, I'll have a wee s at that as well!

| It's not as clear cut as some of u are making out
you may be defending badly but IMO I don't think our attack has much fluidity about yet this year were defending well as you'd expect but we've nit clicked yet
maybe finch having another full week training with the boys will help
on charnley he's getting alot of stick over nothing he did drop them balls fair enough but carmont was blocking for one and got right in his way the intersept one was just unlucky but the trys down his side was because the second rower and centre got dragged in and left him icsolated twice

I thought he looked an exciting British prospect in the outside backs (before either of the last two performances) ...... and I still do.
I defended him after Friday because I thought he still had a reasonable game overall and posters were focusing on a couple of errors without acknowledging Warrington's good play in those situations.
Hardly my fault that Leeds have an indifferent record on young wingers and allow some of better prospects to slip through their fingers.

Surprised they popped the break-chute on landing (2 mile runway at Finningley, sorry Robin Hood Airport) but I guess it was due a service outing after the winter - despite the £700 repack charge.

Those Olympus engines surely need a brake-chute to negate their power. Not sure about a break-chute though, pedant that I am.

Must be difficult for players (like Senior) and refs (like Silverwood) to cope with pre-season levels of NRL intensity and technically proficient skills in defence, hence the frustration. They're just not used to it in SL.

You cant shove a camera into a players face straight after a defeat like that and not expect controversy. Lumpawood during that game was absolutley taking the mick with his handling of it, constant offsides, high shots, slowing down the PTB to a crawl and lets not even start on the "dodgy dosier" affair. Keef rightly or wrongly was asked a question and spoke honestly in no uncertain terms that in his opinion Lumpawood had an absolute 'mare, which he had.

Agree but i still think he is old enough to have the ability to think before he spoke. I totally agree with what he said but unlike football where ferguson is the master of manipulating the refereeing this outburst backfired.
On the point of Silverwood, I cannot stand him. at millenium weekend last year he was swaggering around town in all his RFL kit and was checking himself out in shop windows. he had the look of "I LOVE ME WHO DO YOU LOVE" cant stand him

Thats Lumpawood all over though isnt it? R.e Keith, im with you, but this was straight after the game and Keith hadnt had time to calm down and regather his thoughts. The camera crew knew that they would get some cracking controversial quotes from this and lo, they did. ATEOTD Lumpawood is by far the most unpredicable ref going. (Terry Halibut is just plain bizarre) if he has umbrage with what Keith said then he should have manned up and gone to see him about it instead of acting like a petulant child everytime we have him as ref.
Mind you who's to say Keef hasnt apologised in private and that Lumpawood is just an arrogant git.
