| Sam Thaiday what? He won't be leaving the Broncos in a hurry as he's earmarked as their next captain when Lockyer calls it a day.
A Moi Moi type forward would be a replacement for Eastwood or Leuluai, not Peacock.

| If Fielden is available at less than Eastwood's salary he mightn't be such a bad shout. Looks like he's finally played his way back to some sort of form, and good to see him let that right hand go, rather than cocking it as he usually does.

Yeah I agree totally. As I say he's certainly better than Kirke and Luke Burgess (although I do think there is a lot more to come from Luke due to his age) so it would strengthen us.

Is he better or as good as Eastwood though?

| Just so that we're clear, we're talking about the same Stuart Fielden that got owned by Danny McGuire the other week, aren't we?

Same here, lets not get silly and pretend Ambler is currently a better than Fielden but ambler is the long term future for Leeds so let him play games now, he doesn't look out of his depth at SL level.

Just to be controversial here . But are we saying Burgess got owned by Walker on Friday so we should swap him for Burgess?
McGuire put in a great hit on Fielden without doubt.
Maybe it was a one off, maybe he will do it to him again.
But Fielden does a lot of the hard yards and offloads these dayspretty much like JP does .

| I'd give Fielden a chance at Leeds. OK he isnt what he was but he could do a job. However i'd use him like we did Connelley etc and use his experience to bring the youngsters on with Peacock. Who knows he could be cracking for the squad.

Yes. I thought the idea of signing a replacement was for the replacement to be as good as or better than the outgoing player. I don't think Fielden at this moment in time.

| I cant see anyone in the NRL paying a transfer fee for eastwood with the Cap being so tight down there so we will be looking at a swap deal with an NRL club given Eastwoods stated desire to return to Oz assuming we want to try and squeeze some value out of his remaining contract. I cant see eastwood buying himself out and given his homesickness he wont be going to another SL club regardless of whether anyone has £100k to spend on a transfer

probably less so in the era of the salary pack - it's a case of who's available, at what price, and the what the implications of that are for the rest of the squad and the salary cap.

| Hope you managed to get someone exciting in to replace Eastwood - would love to see Fui in SL, shame Sam Burgess wouldn't be here to greet him again

Fielden has been head and shoulders better than Eastwood this year. Take off your Blue and Amber glasses.
I am not advocating signing him but his work rate would be a great addition to our pack and take some of the burden off Peacock. Fielden was immense in the defeat against Huddersfield.

I agree with that - Fielden would do very well in the Leeds pack and I wouldn't mind seeing him in the red vee at the right price.

Indeed. Same principal as Peacock, Fielden would take much of the burden off Graham for you.

That`s my view too. Fielden should not be compared to Eastwood anyway. I think we need another prop and Fielden would do the job well and help JP. We have enough second rowers to fill in but few props that can do the hard yards.
