| On topic: I'm staying at the Headingley Lodge hotel on Saturday, I believe it has nice views over the pitch.
Off topic: Am I right in saying buses from Cardigan Road are every 48 mins or 18 mins past the hour to get the the city centre on Saturday and Sundays?

Hopefully so, depends on work commitments and weather.
Maybe have to book the day after off too.

Sundays maybe. But they're definitely more frequent on Saturdays. I'd even go as far as saying every 10mins or so.

| Fantastic innings by Trescothick, they'd have been sunk without him.
But I've never been as cold as that at a cricket match.
I hope we can pile on the runs tomorrow but the ball was still moving about a lot tonight.
There should at least be some sun.

| Another great day's play helped by superb sunny weather - what a difference a day makes.
Frostbite yesterday, sunburn today!
Pity Gale got himself out just after he'd scored his 1st ton as skipper.
Let's hope that Rashid & Shahzad can get another batting bonus point & rack up a good lead for us.

| Looking like a tense finish - currently 180-4 needing 198 to win. I thought that when Somerset managed to bat through the morning and almost rack up a 200 lead we'd blown it and may have to settle for a draw, but Lyth and Gale have both batted really well - thing is though, can't be too much time/overs left! 2 wins out of 2 would be a terrific start though!

| By the time I'd finished posting that it was all over! Lyth 90, Gale 64 not out - cracking win! They seem to have really motored towards the end, so it must've been getting pretty close to the end of play. Another 5 wicket haul for Hannon-Dalby too - with 10 out of the 11 players being Yorkshire born for the 2nd match running things are looking very good!!

Great start hopefully they can build on it and challenge for trophies this year.

| I went everyday apart from saturday when I went to Hull.
Excellent all round performance from the team, the spinners looked below par but I think thatb was down to the pitch & the cold weather on Thursday & today.
Never seen Lyth bat better what a shame he didn't get the ton he deserved.
Gale again led from the front let's hope this isn't another false dawn.
Impressed too with Hannon-Dalby lets hope he can lead the attack in the absence for the next few weeks of Bresnan & Shahzad. That will be the acid test even with Best if he finally gets here.
I'm off to Kent next week too, roll on more of the same!

| Thank goodness for the Yorks cricket team, I needed a boost after last night's result & boy have they delivered in spades.
4 wickets for Best on debut then an unbroken opening stand of 233 between Gale (125 not out) and Rudolph (101 not out) to give us victory by 10 wickets.
Plus they batted well on Saturday to easily save the game against Kent.
Let's hope they can keep it up this week against Durham at Headingley.

When was your first Playfair?
My level of cricket interest can be charted by how battered and worn my copy of Playfair for that year is.
The 1991 annual with Robin Smith on the front is practically falling to bits. 1992 with Phil DeFreitas and 1993 with Alec Stewart on are also pretty battered then they are gradually in better condition until about 2004 which was the last one I got.
I also picked up a 1986 one with Allan Border on the front, from a charity shop once for about 50p.

I bought my 1st Playfair cricket annual in 1959 & have bought one every year since. Sadly I left all the early ones at my late mother's so they disappeared when she moved. Now I have them all from 1980.
It's quite touching (to me at least) to see all these old guys at any cricket ground poring over their copies of this little gem.
