They are released under embargo about a week before the official release and the press are not supposed to mention them until the date in question - why they do it that way I don't know because I think you're right, I think the EP did release them early one year.

Les Catalans also released them early in their second season, some misunderstanding with the meaning of "embargo" I think, it meant that we got two 5p flights from Ryanair before someone told Les cats to withdraw their web page though

That would make sense as Leeds will be (as per usual) given an easy ride in the first three rounds as preparation for the WCC. I'd expect Salford or Celtic at home to follow the above two if they prove to be correct.

To be honest, there hasn't been much problem getting cheap flights to Girona at any time Leeds have been around, depending on when you want to travel.

yes and still should be IMO at the home of the champions! but we 'officially' play round 2 or 3 first nowadays because of the WCC so leeds sts at headingley will be our 2nd game of season if the rfl get it right!

If there wasn't a WCC so soon in to the season, maybe we should start the season with the Champions Vs Challenge Cup holders ... A sort of 'Charity Shield' as Round 1 and maybe at a 'big' neutral venue ?

Great idea in theory. Would only really work as a one off game for a Charity Shield-esque trophy though if a neutral venue was being used - otherwise it would be unfair on whoever ended up losing out on a home game as a result of it. Like you said, would only work if there was no WCC so early on, but a nice idea nonetheless.

Great idea. The tendency is that the GF winners start a week early to accommodate the WCC. Play it the week before other games and play it at ine ground or the other rather than a neutral venue. It should be easy enough to say it's always played at the CC winners ground. The only issue then is, if one team wins both do you take the opposition as te GF losers or the CCF losers?

Warringtons first round game is at home to Quins, yes we are in France on the 24th of July and we play Celtic at Wrexham on the 3rd of July. Hull kr are at Wigan for there first round game, so you can rule these teams out for Leeds.

You could well be right about Cas, we are at Cas for our second game so they will be playing away in round 1.
