| You might need to turn the cricket scoreboard round if we play like we have been recently.

| I wouldn't be too surprised if its not all that close a game TBH. Leeds have shown that these supposed 'winner takes all' league games, even play-offs, don't necessarily mean that much. Sts put a huge stall on beating Leeds in the play-offs in the last two years but in the end it counted for naught. In 07 it allowed Leeds to play themselves back into form, but what could be taken from last year's result? And I suspect that Wilkin apart, neither Leeds or Sts will be over the moon or slashing their wrists whatever the result.

| It is indeed, a winner takes not a lot match. I would like Leeds to finish top, it's always got to be better than 2nd. However, it means diddly squat if you don't go on to win the Grand Final. Still top and then champions is slightly better than 2nd and then champions, if only because you get something to serve the sausage rolls off at the party afterwards.

After we won the GF last year I read comments by Danny McGuire in the press where he stated something along the lines of "we prefer playing the week before the final as we are battle hardened.. etc", the comment i was more interested in though was "we will probably look to do the same again next year"
I wasn't sure how to take the 2nd comment, that means you would want to lose the first GF qualifier (1st v 2nd).

| We get this every year and I don't think it makes any difference. There are advantages and disadvantages of qualifying first or second. I still think it's best firstly just get there as (obviously) the elimination S/F is another opportunity for a team to knock us out. But those matches are usually great contests because of what is at stake.

Aren't both GF teams playing the week before the final in this years play off system?

Correct.
Highest placed team gets to choose their opponents but still have to play week before.
So that's good that we'd look to do that this year

To clarify, the highest placed of the two qualifying teams through directly to the Qualifying Semi-Final (week 3) gets to choose their opponent from the two sides through via the Preliminary Semi-Final games (week 2).
