| The question is who is his competition for the role and is he playing better than they are?
Another contract clause automatic upgrade about to be activated at Leeds.

Ainscough, Smith, Raynor, Calderwood, Riley ( ), Ade Gardner, Fox.
I would say at present it should be Smith at FB, Gardner one wing Hall the other, but Ainscough very very close to being in there.
On another note, thought Yeaman looked good last night, should be in the england team imo. Wouldn't mind him as Seniors replacement.

| Gardner was dreadful for England. A true case of Sean Day syndrome for those old enough to remember.
As for Hall, I like him - reasonably big and quick and can jump very well for the high ball on attack. His size alone would make him a better bet than many to face Aus/NZ. I do love watching wingers like Ainscough, although problems under the high ball could be his downfall. Having said that, Jason Robinson's stature wasn't exploited that often by aerial bombardment IIRC.
After last year, I'd hope Smith gives the likes of Hall, Ainscough and Smith at full back a go. The thought of seeing Gardner and Wellens in international colours again is just too depressing.
