Exactly, if I was ever unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with a terminal illness if I could remain just half as positive and dignified as Jane Tomlinson did, and raise just a fraction of the money that she did for the cause I would be happy and I would know my actions would leave my family proud of me.

The two people are completely impossible to compare because how they dealt with the tragic news was so different.

I think if I was in her shoes ,and I had children and I knew I wasn't going to be around long, I would have made as much money as possible to make sure that have good education and that they will be looked after.

Money isn't everything in life, as myself and Dave Heron's Moustache both eluded to before - you can't buy happiness or lifelong memories by pushing every second of your life to the front in the media, you can't make your children proud of you and set them a lifelong positive example by doing that. Her reaction to her diagnosis although not in the slightest bit shocking certainly won't (in my opinion) do her sons any good.

Agreed – as much as I despise the reasons for her ‘celebrity’ status and the media and her publicist for cashing-in on her condition, I find nothing about the premature passing of Ms Goody as amusing.

The only good thing that has risen from this circus is awareness that this disease is not confined to the 40+ and can inflict anyone.

Personally couldnt care about JG, 1 of my best friends dad has cancer and he doesnt get any money off the Daily rags to help my mate if the worst was to happen and my dad has worked for Christies for about the last 5 years and i appreciate how cancer effects lives but a racist tart who is famous for getting her kebab out on tele and bullying now is getting sounded out as a new Diana and a example to us all is ridiculous and says alot of how this country has gone to the dogs. I feel for her kids, genuinely but feelings for her none.

Wouldn't wish death on anyone, but as for Gordon Brown and David Cameron expressing their sadness regarding the death of Jade Goody, did they make these comments about Wendy Richards or the lass who died from the skiing accident this week?

Whats confusing about it? I don't agree with the way she dealt with things and thought I had made that perfectly clear in my posts on the matter?

But that doesn't change the fact that a) with how she has made herself famous it was inevitable that she would make the decision to play her death for everything she could and b) its tragic for her family and friends that she has died - no matter what we think about her it doesn't change what they will be going through.

The post I saw on Facebook on Jord Rhinos page with you defending jade Goody quite vigerously, and then I read on here the implication from you that she is/was a greedy so and so and the "media cirucs" was to be expected from her.

I'm not sure what comments you mean - other than telling Jordan off for his status yesterday I don't recall commenting on it on his status, the debate was on CPs profile and at no time did I defend her on there!

I know what your saying and I do feel that she should of stopped the media when she got married and when she knew she only had a few weeks to live.

Yes the logic behind the Goody publictity of raising cash for the kids and raising awareness for smear tests was good but the red tops took her to the messiah status, part of me wishes Tomlinson had the same treatment

Would she have wanted that though? She didn't appear to be doing what she did for self gain at all.

She did get that publicity though - just in a more dignified way and one that rightfully earned her attention and respect for what she was doing.
