Yes I agree to some extent re Rothwell and Tanaka as both look very good and Ampadu/Gruev can be too defensive at times.
Personally I would like to see Ampadu/Tanaka or Gruev/Rothwell on the pitch together when all are fit.
My concern is that I don`t have too much confidence in our back 4 and both Ampadu/Gruev had to spend more time covering for them which I don`t think Tanaka.Rothwell are as good at.

Personal opinions Tad but he didn`t even move and the ball was only a yard to his left.
If he guesses that way he saves it but he stood still.

thing is, and I played as a keeper. it was too hard and more importantly too close. sounds daft but it's easier to react if it isn't as close and you can reach out rather than down

It looked a poor attempt of a save to me and I know a few other people saying the same but I’m no expert on the matter. If we do go up he needs replacing with much better but that’s for another day. His distribution is so inconsistent too

In fairness to Messier he made that astonishing point blank save when Rodon deflected the ball goalwards a couple of yards out. As regards to binning Meslier if we go up , I think we”d have to bin 90% of the current team.

I think it`s more about his overall performance(s) distribution, awareness, marshalling his back 4 etc.
Most players refer to goalkeepers as a bit eccentric and OTT ( no offence Tad)


I rarely see Meslier bol£ocking his defenders and telling them off like others I`ve seen.
But like you guys are saying with the exception of maybe 4 or 5 the rest are not PL standards and will need replacing.

Regarding the Gruev injury it looks similar to Ampadu`s although I hope I`m wrong.
Performance wise and the next 2 games, I can see us about 8th in the League after Sheff Utd`s game and possibly 8 points behind the top 2.
I`m going 2 nil Sunderland and a 3 nil Sheff Utd and btw I`ve never predicted a correct score yet.

Absolutely gutted after what was a fantastic all round performance until that clown messed up.
I keep saying it but we won`t get promotion whilst he`s in goal.
We were cruising that game and all he had to do was hold the ball and it`s 3 points.
Aaaronsen again closes down well and doesn`t stop running but I`ve yet to see him win a 1 on 1 duel.
Harsh criticism there i know but just an observation really.

cold light of day that was a brilliant performance.dominated large parts.
we are a better team with a run of games. stop/start for international breaks does us no favours. I'm confident once we get this break out of the way we'll go on a decent run, especially with james and Solomon back

No not at all Tad, apparently he was looking on this site just before kick off and it spurred him on to greater things



. It was a really good finish from him, think he may have been pulled for offside in The Prem but who cares, he did what he was there to do. I still wouldn’t have him starting until he can prove his worth over a number of games. The reason he has been warming the bench is because he’s offered absolutely nothing to the team for large parts of his career at Leeds. Tbh I’m not bothered if he does absolutely nothing for big parts of games if he can come up with the goals, but if he isn’t scoring he offers little else, unlike Joseph. As for Meslier, it’s pointless speculating how the ball moved etc, etc it was just terrible. Having said that, if we look beyond what was overall a good display, we looked really vulnerable at the back last night. Sunderland wasted plenty of really good chances so when we’ve all got over Meslier’s howler a draw was probably a fair result. It certainly didn’t feel like that at the time though.

we missed ampedu. he would have filled the hole in front of the back four. they created hardly any clear cut chances.

We miss Ampadu but they had far too many strikes at goal for my liking. We’re better when we go forward so let’s hope we spend more time doing that over the course of the season.
