I kind of wish we had played them a game or two after Tony Smith had come in.

New coach syndrome and our form made it close last week. I would imagine had we played them last night it could have been an almost illegal battering.

If TS didn't know the size of the task before, he does now. Ironically the defeat comes at the hands of his old number two at Leeds, Brian McDermott.

It will take some time and changes to a lot of personnel (Briers included for mine) to get Warrington competitive again.

Have just come back from watching Quins play really well, one of those games where things just click, Danny Orr was outstanding as was Will Sharp and most of the pack. Having said that Warrington would have made pretty much any side look great today. They were really poor, nothing they tried worked and after about 30 minutes whatever confidence they may have had was gone. Smith faces a real task to make anything of the shower I saw today. I felt really sorry for the fans who had made the long trip - not because Wire lost (long may that continue) but for the gutless effort they had to endure watching.

We played pretty well but Warrington were catastrophically bad. Wire fans baying for blood at the final whistle. Matt King sighted allegedly giving the finger to fans on the coach afterwards.

Spot on from Highbury Rhino. Couldn't have summed it up better myself.

I don't believe that Smith has the where with all to turn this Wire side around. When he came to Leeds he had a side waiting to be lead. Wire are in total melt down and the players seem to rule the roost which will take longer than 2 years to cure.

You might be right. Our club had to nearly go bust and sign old men from 0Scarborough Pirates before we turned it round.

How did McCarthy-Scarsbrook go? I was really impressed with him in the Wigan game.

He's quality IMO. He seems to go more under the radar than Burgees. But he always performs. I know he flirts between prop and second row, but I prefer him at prop, he gets more ball and does more damage. A great attacking prop.

Solid is the word to describe Quins. No more than their centres (Howell and Gafa), and with Tony Clubb beefing their second row, solid is the word. Golden adds a nice slice of solid continuity when he comes on (makes the tackles, works hard at the markers).

They always run better than the 'experts' give them credit for. I don't know why people are surprised by this, I'm not.

Looks from his comments about players going off and sulking like Tony Smith has already started to upset some of the fragile under-achieving egos at Warrington.

That club will not be successful until it undergoes a massive clearout, starting with the likes of Briers and Rauhihi who are stealing a living.
