Or that part of him, the confidence and even arrogance is what makes him the player he is or could be. To be fair to the lad he broke his leg and has some serious hamstring issues. When he plays we are a significantly better team and ever other side in the comp would love to have him in their team.

In terms of status, old school thinking that you need to be top of the tree to act like you are. Lots of younger players have that in them, I think it is often what makes them become the players they do.

He believes in himself and his ability. Confidence or arrogance, it's a fine line. Either is fine with me. Does he need to deliver, of course he does, but I really don't want to watch a game played by robots. Agree about winding his neck in with the officials, he won't win that battle and it will cost him and the team. If he was playing against us I'd probably have a different opinion. Either way it stirs up the emotions, which is why we love the sport, is it not?

My view on RS has not changed even after last nights performance . Being analytical , our first half performance was dire - same old errors , no line speed , no pressure on kicker, slow start to match again etc etc . So RS had not addressed any of our constant failings and he was again unable to motivate the team. If we had been up against a clinical attack , the game would have been over before half time.
The game turned on 2 things - one was the Newman intercept before half time and the other was Tets sending off - that is what motivated that team last night - nothing else.
Both these had absolutely nothing to do with our coach - and as long as he thinks all NRL coaches and all Super League coaches are wrong , and he is right , we have all seen what we are going to see on the field and if you follow the team every week , its not good enough.

Gary Schofield used to manage it on a pretty regular basis. I'm sure when Rohan gets round to reading all the love letters on here he'll do the decent thing and resign. You hope.

That was just "new coach bounce" you silly Billy. Of course that's normally a one or two game phenomenon, but Rohan was so lucky it lasted for two thirds of a season.

Phenomenal performance from the lads in that second half. Shows how better we are when playing with intensity and line speed. Austin put a huge shift in. Newman just looks special. Gannon was great when he came on too. Cameron Smith just gets better

Must say always had my doubts about Cameron Smith, but hats off he looks fitter than ever and really starting to look like a very good player, not drifting in and out of games like before (well no more than the rest if the team’s current firm) hope the trajectory keeps going up he could be the best 13 in super league in another year or so.

I've thought for a while Smith is the best 13 in the comp. It's unbelievable to me that he's not in the England squad

Let’s hope Rohan builds a new great era and it’s more than a mere overture.

No coach is "locked in"
There won't be a knee jerk reaction to current erratic form.
But there will be an assessment at the end of the year.
If we finish 5th to 8th, it will be - let's continue the rebuild.
If we finish 9th or 10th, he might not be so "locked in".

Just need a concerted effort to be more composed.

It will be interesting to see who has learned the most from that game - Peet or Smith. In a week's time we will find out

Might well be the case although the facts don't bear that out. So far it's Smith 3 - Peet 0 with a points tally of 102 to 38. Two of those games were at Wigan.

I just think smith is set in his ways. peet is more flexible in his approach

Both good coaches , but we’re at home and should have the edge after last week. Confidence will be high

I can see a repeat of last week score wise, but with either team winning as we are so chronically inconsistent.

It'll be interesting to see if the approach/philosophy changes with it being knock out rugby.
