Bailey is a laughing stock - enforcer my ass - when was the last time he threw a punch in anger - he even allowed Radford to use him as a punch bag.
Classic Bailey when he dropped the ball as soon as he saw Tomkins coming towards him, was it his tackle on Lima both times!!
Maybe he should concentrate on his limited core skills and get stuck in where it hurts rather than little sly digs third man in?

| My classic Bailey memory is a couple of years or so ago at home against Wire and bailey body checked Mozza and Mozza went down and Bailey was stood over him,but Morley got up and played like nowt happened.. the shock hit Bailey ,he must have had the wind took out of him and the pain set in and he went missing for the rest of the game and probably keeping out of Morleys way.It was some HIT though could hear it from the north stand

Difficult to defend yourself when you're on your knees trying to get up and play the ball after a tackle. Remind me who got the red card and how the game went? Job done.
Same when the biggest cheap shot merchant of the entire SL era, Mr Sculthorpe, decided to blindside him while he wasn't looking.
I don't care what anyone says, he walks out to play in the front row in RL knowing every other f****r in the opposition pack wants to T@t him at the slightest provocation.

As you say dropped ball, missed tackles, lying on a smaller player after the end has finished

When he gets a reputation for hurting opponents in the tackle and they avoid running at him then his reputation will be justified - but we all know that isn't going to happen anytime soon

| I actually think, contrary to what a lot of other fans might tell you, being the man in the pack who walks out with a deliberately painted target on your chest takes some cahonies. He irritates, niggles, enrages and draws a lot of fire. He takes some hammer for his troubles as well.
Classic Bailey.

Problem is opponents are laughing at him these days, Wembley was just the latest example - a complete empty jacket. Perhaps if he concentrated on maximising his talents to the team's advantage he may gain some respect e.g. Peacock We need props who can make hard yards and hurt in the tackle? Bailey is neither of these - when the going gets really tough he is nowhere to be seen.

I saw Lima laughing when he dropped the ball. That's about it. When else were they laughing? It isn't his job to gain respect, or to be liked.

Tough to really hurt someone when you are third in the tackle and others have taken the physical punishment of the collision - so no I am not joking.

Who said anything about him being liked? respect is essential in any team sport both from your team mates and your opponents.
You think his team mates cannot see what we see - his performances improve when a contract renewal is on the horizon. Not sure he is the kind of guy you want in the trenches?
You think Peacock is respected by both? RL is a very hard sport as it is - making sly digs as the last man in the tackle when the opponent is pretty much defensless is pretty pathetic really.

I've never seen any evidence that his team mates don't respect him, have you? He does a dirty job for the team, and I'm sure his team mates appreciate it. Unless you have any evidence to back up your claims to the contrary?
As for the contract renewal, I think we've already established that his recent good form came long after his contract was renewed, but that it hadn't been announced.
Never let the facts ruin a good story though, eh?
He's hardly the first prop to have a pop at a half-back or go for the odd "cheap shot" either is he? Used to be part of the job description. Lee Radford, in fact, did it to Ryan Bailey last year, without attracting the same mouth-frothing. Jeff Lima is third man into nearly every tackle, and if he isn't you can bet someone else will come in hard to finish the job off once the player is stopped. It's one of those details Wigan take great care over. Again, rather less mouth-frothing about it.

Are people still clinging onto this 'oh he's playing well because his contract his on the chopping block' this has been well quashed. But some seem to cling onto it for some reason?
Bails is respected enough to be selected in every coaches ideal 17 when it comes to the crunch. That speaks volumes. If other issues would have taken precedence he would have been weeded out a long time ago.
The way he was mobbed away at Salford when he barged his way over from 10 metres (run at the half back as well - typical soft-cock Bailey) not only displayed his team mates repsect but also showed they quite liked him. Shocker? Not really.
Bails does do the nasty. He has been told by refs 'not to tackle so roughly', he spots the big hits, puts himself about, will throw himself about, will have the odd tantrum, - the price a big target. He will even raise his knees. He comes in with 50/50 hits but on many occasions has put his opposite number in his pocket. With bailey you can easily paint whatever picture you want. Part of the fun I suppose. But he's a big daft prop at the end of the day - what do you want?

It's just wigan fans. It's ok for their players to do it, but when someone else does it's a disgrace.
Imagine if mcguire had stuck 2's up at wigan fans?
They'd have been calling for life imprisonment and the lethal injection!

A minute or two after TMFMISL put Mary on his arriss he was held up in the tackle by two players so FGB could come charging in third man with the intent to cause damage .
What did TMFMISL do after they ganged up on him ?
Played the ball thats what he did .
Classic Bailey .

| At the end of the day when the ref pulled him and sir kev after he hit rat boy and the handbags had calmed down he just said to him just be careful ryan Both Bails and sir Kev could be heard asking what was wrong with the tackle and was it legal? Bentham had to say yeah but it was borderline or whatever but it was legal as Ratboy could have got up and played on so Bails did the right thing so whats the problem the pies have got?

You've got a poor memory old lad, he sorted two out in about ten seconds against udders this season. First of all he did stickneck Brown and then when his rentboy minder O'donnell came running in he got some as well. Didn't you see the pictures of the big tough aussies jaw bent round Baileys fist ?
