| Quote ="Brodie123"It’s been a joke, what a farce, Wayne Bennett should hang his head in shame. There was no balance in the squad, players now playing out of position. It’s clear Bennet does not rate super league, if your an Aussie playing in SL with a UK heritage your in the team, plus too many English players who are in OZ simply walk into the team, Bennet has become a dinosaur, blown away, we had no answer to PNG in the second half. Bennet surely has to walk away from this after this tour.'"
Walk away!!
GB management should publically kick his ass out and be scathing about his approach and the state we are left in.

| Bennett has to go now when he came in as England coach he took is in a forward direction but now we've gone 2 or 3 steps backwards with his coaching and team selection, i suspect GB will disband again now and Eng, Sco, Wal, and Ire will focus on there own goals heading into 2021 world cup and the future, think this tour proves that the home nations and SL need a international break in there calendar to keep up with the rest of international teams as they are on the up and we do not want to drop down the pecking order any further a mid season test is key imo for England rugby League. I hope Bennett does go and hopefully someone like Shaun Wane will take over the national team building up to world cup we need to get all the best talent in super league and nrl in there natural positions and playing like a team again.

Players like Watkins, Hall, Mcgillvary, Widdop, Hill, Hodgson need to prove fitness and form at club level before being considered again imo they have served there country well in past but we need new young blood in squad whist keeping some experience in there.

| Just going to put this out there but Brian McD should be considered for GB too. He has the best track record of any British coach getting teams up for big games.
I’m not sure changing Wayne will change our fortunes because I don’t think our player pool is strong enough, but I can’t see how he survives this tour now.
Also I don’t and never have really agreed with getting your “best 13” on the pitch almost regardless of position. Specialist skills are vital as it knowing instinctively what your role is at this level. GB lacked in many areas - too slow, not enough creativity, not enough punch.

| After this showing they will struggle to sell tickets if Bennett stays.
He will get binned off for this reason if no other.

| I can see benefits of Wane and he is available but my preferred option would be Powell. Worked wonders at CAS with little to no resource, would like to see what he can do with a bigger and in theory better player pool.
Will play a SL style and the players would understand what they are doing. It might not get us a world cup but we would be back playing well and being competitive.

Don't see him as an international coach tbh. He wouldn't have the time with the players that he does at Cas and so much of their good play depends on planned moves that have been drilled and drilled and drilled into their players. Mind you, the play in SL is so formatted the same could be said of almost any coach based here. Ian Watson shows at least some capacity to think outside the box when circumstances demand, I'd be tempted to give him a go.

Watson has had one good season so I'd want to see how he handles this coming season and all the changes at Salford. If he gets them in the playoffs again I'd be impressed and agree he would be worth a shot.
We need someone a bit more proven though. Fair point on the time a GB coach gets with players but that's more an issue to solve than accept for me. A UK based coach should find it easier to get time with the UK based players.

| Lets also remember that of the most highly regarded young English coaches were also involved in the set up.
The squad selection was unbalanced, which was a huge mistake, but the the players were terrible, and should also take responsibility for their own performance.

Yeah, by peacock, who on the tour would oversee the minor details and logistics. That’s usually a team managers role.

Not Ian Watson & Danny Ward?
Sacking Peacock would be akin to Leeds sacking Sue Ward for the poor team performance in 2018.

| Well......
At least we know where were at.
For me it has to be Wane. He's not afraid to ruffle feathers, would instantly add a bit of toughness and based over here would see the players week in week out.
It may sound disrespectful, but he's simplify our plays and get us playing to our strengths instead of apeing a style that we cant copy.

Agree. He’s available and his style should be easier to replicate at international level than some others.
Also, there’s a side to me that just utterly hates seeing us beaten rather tamely and whilst I get you can’t have a modern day Barrie Mac elbowing players in the head anymore, I desperately want to see more fight at GB/England level. I want to see more runs like the one Philbin put in. I want to see everytime there’s a slight scuffle that every player is ready to tvvat an Aussie if need be. I think we’re too pally and often too respectful of the Aussies. I don’t just wanna beat them, I want us to fck em up. I think we’re missing the kind of obvious passion that gets both players and fans excited.

| Change needed for sure. Most (all?) of the SL players who appeared for Tonga and PNG had great games. Contrast that with ours. There aren't too many explanations that stack up, other than the coaching and leadership.

| Bennet is a good coach if you've got all season long as cutting out errors and playing the percentages will pay off. Also if you are coach of Australia it will pay off as you have the world's best players so the scores will come.
Our side has showed no lack of effort although they have had the passion taken out of them.
We will not beat the Aussies with composure. Our only chance is to smash them off the park and show some flair and freedom in the backs. We can't and won't ever beat them at their own game. Wane for me. I certainly won't go to any games against Oz if Bennet is still coach as it's boring and we will lose (even if narrowly).

=#FF0080And that maybe why he won't get the job?
I hope I'm wrong. Whether you like him or his style of play is generally irrelevant. The majority of players who have played for him love him, he's straight with them and they know what to expect. He's not the shouter and bawler that many people think, although he does have his "moments" if instructions are not obeyed.
