Alex Sutcliffe - Featherstone Rovers - DR regular.'"
Alex Sutcliffe's defence at Fev has been out of this world. He was outstanding against Anthony Gelling last week (to the extent that Widnes moved Gelling to the other side of the field in the closing stages).
Attack-wise, I'd be much more doubtful about him making it as a SL centre. He runs hard and straight and gives his all, but he's a bit one-dimensional in that respect and if he is going to make it at SL level it's probably as a back row when he fills out. He might just end up as a "tweener" size-wise.
There's nothing wrong with his bottle either. He took a big hit at Sheffield two weeks ago and threw up on the pitch, but was back in the defensive line on the next play. Then against Widnes he slid head-first into the advertising hoarding when scoring a try from a kick through, but again didn't miss a play.

| Good result away to an in form Wakey team. 8 first years in the 17 and 8 rep players missing.
Thought Brad Martin and Sam Walters were very good in the backrow.

a ready made replacement for Ablett would do nicely

| Good contest though. Very nice pass from Broadbent for one of Batley’s tries.
Quite good to see Dupree mixing it a bit for York as well actually.

| Been watching this one today, and quite simply, Walters is so far ahead of anyone else on the pitch it is unreal, simply miles better than anyone else. Whether that is him as a superstar or the rest just rubbish, time will tell. But as for us as a club, I would have this lad immediately working with the first team.

Newcastle look to have some good athletes, but their basic skills are awful.

| Walters is very good. Needs to fill out a bit but that will come over next 18 months.
Was a young team out today missing a few senior heads and opposition wasnt great but a solid win. Game time for some lads who have not played much recently.
Have to say Corey Johnson is starting to look bigger and stronger which he needs to do to make the step up. Quality kid.

Probably a fair result, good entertaining game that swung one way then the other all night. Sam Walters and Corey Johnson the stand outs for Leeds, jake sweeting Robbie storey and kian Morgan all outstanding for the tigers.

| Fair assessment and result Brayton.
Cas deserved a point if not more. Very sloppy from Leeds tonight.
Thought Corey was excellent. So good around the ruck. Walters good again. Iwan Stephens did well and scored a full lengther too.
Leeds got joy down their left when attacking but got obsessed with it even when Cas had solved their issues.
Disappointing showing tonight but it's a Leeds team with a few top players out for one reason or another.

Any update on Holroyd's foot injury?

| I went too, and I repeat what I said previously. I am a big fan of Corey and always have been. However, Walters is so far ahead of everyone else in that academy set up. He should be getting integrated to first team now, he is on a different planet to all the other forwards. The props are quite poor if been honest, and only McConnell puts in the really hard stamina work.
And I have never understood why we perserve with Spence. I really don't like how we take players on just because of family connections. Same with Scrimshaw aswell, although he wasn't playing.

| Walters could be frightening once he fills out a bit, tall skilful and mobile with great leg drive.
In Oledski, Walker, Newman, Broadbent, Holroyd, Johnson, Walters, Trout and maybe McLelland we have a clutch of real quality juniors already there or thereabouts I think. Some good 16s too with potential.
We don’t need all of the remaining 19s to make the cut and many won’t I guess.
To be fair some of the current 19s are first years and have plenty of development time on their side.
Did Delaney and McLelland play last night?

Delaney played but was taken off early after a couple of missed tackles and penalties. That happens though.

Harvey Spence doesn’t have any family connections ,he got signed due to the fact he showed a lot of talent in his age group

Should be out of the boot now if not this week and then it's another couple of week of rehab for Tommy.
