I think we all realized that Ryan would have to stay in this Hemisphere rather than pursue any of the prospective interest from the NRL clubs due to his trouble in obtaining a working visa

Heard that Josh Sunley has been released with immediate effect, and quite a few of the under 19s have been told to look for new clubs, with the U16s taking most of the spots in the 19s.

You only really have 3 or 4 from each age group that the club will seriously see as potential stars. Baldwinson and Tonks were the main from the 19's with Sutcliffe. Minns has pushed himself in along the way. A lot are always just fillers.

That was why losing the two who were planned should have been seen as an issue.

Now you look to the under 16's, and luckily in this lot you might be looking at 5 or 6 from what I hear.

well hopefully some lessons will be learned from that situation and we will see them in the first team for years to come

Good bunch, the current 16s. I'd like to see Mark Lilley move up with them to keep some continuity there, although I'm not sure whether that might cause problems for his lad Jordan (probably one of the "five or six" Gotcha is referring to) if his old man is coaching the side.

It's going to be a golden opportunity for some of these lads, particularly the half backs and forwards. By the time they get to 18/19, there are going to be some gaps in the Leeds first team that need filiing.

Just the way it happens sometimes, you get a lot of established players in the peak of their careers and it leaves nowhere for your emerging talent to go.

Good point AG but imagine if we already had 2 young quality Forwards who are comfortable at FR or BR ready to step up so we could let the likes of Kirke and Moore move on oh wait ...........

Neither Baldwinson nor Tonks are ready to play first team week in, week out at this stage IMO.

Neither of them will play first team at the Warriors, but it'll be a fun adventure for them for a couple of years.

I think both are ready to integrate into the 17 on a rotational basis so id go next year with Bailey ,JP ,Kylie ,Singleton as 1st choice 4 Props then we'd have chance to rotate Yates ,Baldwinson and Tonks in the mix plus the option of JJb and Achurch as back up.
Even with limited gametime/injuries i'd also be tempted to sign another young FR at the expense of releasing the 2 aforementioned players.
It will be interesting to see how they both get on in NZ and also if we retain Mulhern and how Minchella comes through as a BR.

I really hope the club don't cut Rob Mulhern loose.

Thought he was going really well prior to his injury, and it would be a shame if that ended up being the finish to his Leeds career.

I believe that Rob Mulhern was on the brink of 1st team action before getting injured, and was offered no. 29, and thats why its been left by other academy players i believe.

Richard Hunwicks has left Leeds Rhinos and joined Salford Red Devils. Interesting move for him, and one that could be a big loss for us.

Also leaving for 2014 from staff is club doctor Jon Greenwell

Can't blame Rich Hunwicks. The chance to be head of department is too good to turn down.

Hopefully Jason Davidson will be given a fairly free rein when it comes to appointing his replacement.

And under the good Doctor, he'll probably be earning a tasty wage in comparison to others in a similar role.
