I do love enthusing about SL dream teams, so here's my SL 'dream' dream team of the last decade... the kind of players whose eminent contributions to SL all put Buderus to shame.
1. Shaun Briscoe
2. Scott Donald
3. Sid Domic
4. Jason Demetriou
5. Kevin Penny
6. Graham Appo
7. Richard Horne
8. Jamie Thackray
9. Matt Diskin
10. Paul King
11. Ben Galea
12. Matt Adamson
13. Stephen Wild
My apologies to Nick Fozzard, Peter Fox, Ade Gardner, Scott Moore, Justin Murphy, Mark Calderwood, Tonie Carroll, Paul Cooke and Michael Smith for their non-inclusion among the elite.

Only players who have been named in any SL dream team, or won the Harry Sunderland, or Lance Todd, or Albert Goldthorpe or have won at least 3 SL rings earn my everlasting respect.
Regards,
Leroy Rivett, Ian Kirke, Lee 0.83 Smith, Matt Diskin and Danny Brough.

Yes amd he was also Leeds player of the year in 2004.
I'd settle for Buderus picking up the odd man of the match award here or there.
Monaghan has overshadowed Buderus in this country by some distance.

| Ettingshausen was the 'best' full back I've seen for Leeds. Eric Grothe was the 'best' winger. Hanley was the 'best' loose forward. I could name an arguable 'best of' Leeds side from the past 30 years who were fun to watch as they failed miserably to win anything meaningful.
There are a bunch of players in this squad who may not be playing well now, and may not ever again, but who have helped win the major trophy 3 (and in some cases 4) times. Those players may be dismissed today, but if for example the '100 Greatest Players' book from a few years ago is updated in 20 years, Diskin would be in and not Buderus. Ryan Hall would be in ahead of Eric Grothe. And the list goes on.
One day they'll be having reunions of the 2007-09 players on the pitch. Maybe its only when they're all old men that some people will recognise their contribution to the club.

What a team that is, and thanks for proving the point that "Buderus has never been overshadowed by any 9 in this comp"
Michael Monaghan was clearly shaken by his presence during the 2010 CC Final

I've not watched that final since suffering it live but I'm struggling to remember much from Buderus but a knock on.

You omitted an honourable '100 Greatest Players' mention for 3 times Grand Final and SL ring winner Ian Kirke.

I struggled to remember much apart from...
1) Bailey being owned by Turnstile Mathers... that's right, Bailey owned by Turnstile Mathers in a one-on-one tackle when it was easier to just negotiate a turnstile by the usual method and score a simple try.
2) McGuire calling for a stretcher.
3) The Leeds fans emptying their seats by the 65th minute.

Fair point - IMO this was the most disappointing game of Buderus' Leeds career. An opportunity for him to shine on a big stage and prove his class but he blew it. I've been largely happy with the Buderus signing but this was a major chalk mark against it IMO. It was the sort of game you'd expect a former Australia and NSW captain to show his quality, especially as he was on form in the previous round. He wasn't the only player not to 'turn up' though.
It would be great if he could make up for it this year and go out on a high (assuming he is not retained).

I just remembered something else.
4) Kirke's "tackle" on Ryan Atkins.
I wish I hadn't.

There were two Leeds players responsible for lame attempts at a tackle on Atkins which led to that try. Will your tiresome [i'agenda'[/i allow you to name that other Leeds player apart from Kirke?

| Monaghan hasn't made it yet.
I'm missing the selections from '96 (bar Cunningham), '97 and '98 but I'm pretty sure Monaghan wasn't around in SL back then.
