Exactly, he played off a very dominant pack and had time to think and do as he pleased! Him at Salford was mainly down Hastings, he created nearly every platform.

| Peteru showed some glimpse of potential, but ultimately was too injury prone and inconsistent. The quota spots are too valuable to not have someone play half the time. If he had a UK passport it might be different, but it's a good decision for me.
Ruthless is what we need to be. Other players need to sit up and take notice that if you don't perform you're gone.

If we can get a better prop replacing two which weren’t really there, that seems good business with the youth coming through.'"
I think Cuthbertson will see out his contract, and his performances since Agar came means he probably deserves it.

| People who think Lolohea is a good half because he went to a Salford team who were 2nd or 3rd most consistent team all year with best halfback this year in League to partner him in Hastings plus when he reps for Tonga he has one of best packs in world rugby to play off and even then he's nothing special when he played GB at weekend all he did was put in some well placed grubbers into in goal area. Lolohea is a poor player with poor attitude and physical attributes I'm glad we got rid.
With Peteru off books now I'd imagine well be bringing in a NFT prop that's around in NRL, especially if Singleton is rumoured to be off as well.

I dunno, I suspect you're right but he's way off the form he showed when he first joined us, overall.

From the 2019 squad numbers, we have lost 11 players so far.

| So with Peteru definitely gone, and Singleton allegedly going, that would leave us with Ava, Crosby, Cuthbertson, Oledzki, Holroyd..... as recognised props. If Ferres is staying it must be to play as a prop, but he'd not be in my top 4 rotation there.
I'd say Peteru gets replaced by a prop, and Singleton gets replaced by a hooker who has 1-2 years left to bring Johnson through.
Get Davies in (even on season long loan with no recall or can't play clauses) and we are in much better shape than last year. I'm not saying we will win anything, but we should be in the running for 5-8th, with no worries of bottom 4 at all.
That has to be the plan.

| Hi all, I’ve been following this site for few years but not commented. I’m pretty shocked at how bitter some people can get on here. Tui was the best half on show by a mile. Played Hastings off the park. Give him some credit! Have people ever considered that you don’t need to look like Anthony Joshua to play half back?
It didn’t work out at Leeds and we have moved on, but no need to slate him now.

I agree we shouldn't slate people unduly, but Tui was a shower with us and that shouldn't be forgotten. I agree he looked decent at the weekend but as others have said with a pack with that much grunt ahead of you it gives you time and space - we needed (and still need) a half who can make plays even when under pressure, and that's not Tui.

If you can`t praise a halfback when performing well behind a dominant pack, how can you criticise a halfback for been poor behind a beaten pack?

Don’t think Tui was as bad as people suggest. Myler is the real weak link. Tui is very much a player that needs time to settle, and gain confidence. Any new half would have struggled in the toxic environment he found himself in.
And I’m sorry , I’m not that bothered about a halfback putting his body on the line and risk injury. Would much rather have a skill full , side stepping, good kicker. Tui is no superstar, but don’t think we really gave him much chance......
Then to pay a fee for an older Lui, well no comment.

| Lolohea obviously has some skill but he just wasn't the kind of player Leeds needed at the start of 2019. We badly needed an organiser and instead we got Joel Moon Mk2 (also not a bad player, but not what we needed in the halves).
The frustration about Lolohea's body shape probably comes from having watched his NRL highlights reel in which a much slimmer and pacier player was capable of causing havoc on the flanks. I have no problem with players carrying a bit more timber if they still get the job done - Tony Kemp was a superb player in this regard, and for that matter Hurrell also looks tubbier than he was in the NRL.
On top of this there were a couple of occasions when Lolohea looked like he was deliberately avoiding the tough stuff in defence, and also looked poor positionally. Whilst the coaching staff have to take some responsibility for some of this, at times Lolohea's commitment to Leeds did look questionable in his on-field efforts. Maybe there was something going on behind the scenes, which takes us back to point 1 - he simply wasn't a good fit with Leeds.
Time to move on now. Personally, I'm pleased that his career prospects have improved, and we got a more solid player in return at a crisis point in our season.

He had every chance whilst here but he had zero commitment & he bottled contact at FB aswell.
Also EVERY RL player puts their body on the line in Defence is a basic requirement of the sport & something Myler does every week who you suggest is tthe weak link.

Maybe a young up and coming south sea islander type? I reckon Myler will be used to cover 9 alongside Dwyer

Wow, if we are planning on going with Myler and Dwyer at 9 can forget top 5, and just focus on avoiding the drop and decent cup run......
Thought 9 was the most important position on the pitch?

I agree mate that he did nothing at Leeds and bottled contact which was unforgivable at the time.
Also agree Myler puts his body on the line.
But for me Lolohea has the better skillset with a decent short kicking game and a pretty decent pass something Myler does lack.
My point is if Tui played alongside Lui (sounds like a cartoon double act!!) maybe he would have looked better than playing alongside Myler.
Be interesting to see how he goes without Hastings by his side though.
Peteru also didn`t have the heart.
