| I'd like to give special mention to the try saving tackle from Ryan Hall in the first half. Phenomenal effort.

Very good. But McGuire was superb first half with the momentum. Best player out there.
Parcell and Cuthbertson were brilliant all game, and Hall came up with some big moments. Think Galloway is getting better each week also.

| Quote ="Biff Tannen"Got to focus on going for 2nd spot now for me and getting that home play off fixture. Big game against Hull now as i think they are the biggest threat to us for that place. If we can win our home games from here that may well be enough.'"
Yeah agree with that. The top 8 looks trickier this year as those teams in 6th-8th won't be giving up like in previous seasons. Salford are struggling now and I think that's 4 losses from 5 in the league with a cup win inbetween and could see more losses with the semi final on the horizon distracting them, if they were to actually get to the final then they could really free fall.
Likewise whoever wins our semi final could take a hit inter league but if we can beat Hull on Friday it would give us a bit of a gap over them to work with.
Interesting to see how Cas manage the end of the Top 8's. It's looking like they'll claim the LLS with 4 maybe 5 games to spare. They'll obviously want to rest key players then to keep them fresh for the playoffs, the key for Powell is getting the balance right between resting players but making sure you take momentum into the playoffs.

| Even if he'd had a terrible game the verbal abuse of referees has gone too far, both at the games and on social media.
I understand people are going to mutter and moan when a decision goes the other way but I think it's going too far and is becoming far too personal.
And of course to verge over into physical abuse/assault is just ridiculous.

Thanks.
Hopefully get some momentum for the 8s. Will help when we start getting players back as well.

Galloway is a solid prop, back to doing exactly what he was last year where he took a lot of unfair flak basically for joining a team in turmoil, being the direct replacement for JP and people looking for scapegoats at the time.

some of the criticism of Galloway was justified at the time, but most people agreed he got better as the season went on and clearly prefers a dry track and warmer weather. plus both this season and last did not get a string of games together too much in first half of season he looks better with a good run of games under his belt. happy enough for me, solid prop but no world beater (although his has kangaroo caps)

I am with Biff on this one. He got unjustified criticism last year and his work was unappreciated by many who just waded in. He is an old fashioned solid prop who does a lot of the hard graft with few errors and would be one of my starting props.

| Was not on this site last season, but know on Facebook, Galloway got in from a lot of stick and was viewed as one of the worst signings we had done. ..im not on twitter but read it and whilst the abuse was not as up front it was still prevalent. Just takes one person to post inaccurate facts then the band wagon starts rolling Galloway did an interview stating he knew he was not popular with fans but hoped to eventually he would win then over.
That must have only added to the pressure of filling the void of JP and Kylie so just on that level ,think he has done incredibly well, and road the storm when lesser players might well have abandoned ship and thought if I'm not popular , I don't need this cr@p i'll find another club. That determination to win fans round and be successful is part of Rhinos spirit. As others said he put in lot of hard graft..he might not be as flash as Cuthbo on offloads but that said seen him make a few slick offloads ....I hope he does not get any more injuries this season as we will need his physical presence to ensure we retain the second place in table..then hopefully progress to play offs.

| Galloway has been excellent for the last 12 months, and was always going to come good. He's one of the best props in the league, and would get into most teams' 17 easily.

| Galloway got off to a poor start last year but I thought from around Round 9/10 he really picked up and did well in a struggling team. Think the fact he's an outside signing as opposed to a local lad and people just lazily sticking to their original view on people have been what's counted against him.
Let's not forget this year he's coming back from a serious injury and then lost a few weeks with a knee problem. He's done ok and will get better with more matches IMO. Apparently he came back from Australia a few weeks earlier than planned during pre season so he could work on getting himself back fit as soon as possible even leaving his family behind and coming by himself. That says something about the guy and shows how much he wants to do well here.

| Maybe he doesn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if the older guys upped their efforts after the younger players did well the previous week. We haven't played particularly well since Warrington - about 5 games before Sts. It certainly doesn't harm anyone to know that nobody is indispensable.

Maybe but you cannot say JJB ever plays without effort. To call McGuire and JJB "has beens" was just an insult that does not reflect what they bring to the side. Of course selection should be based on form and recent performances but experience and mental strength are factors too as is protecting youngsters that should not be overplayed, until they mature, in a what is a very physical sport.
