The slight difference in both the Fussy and the Sezer bans is that both were fractionally late. The player no longer had the ball when impact occurred. Welsby timed it perfectly. It's just a question of whether the unintentional impact to the head is deemed reckless? I don't know if he has any form in this regard, but I suspect not and for that reason I think he'll avoid a ban. The Martin verdicts were both so plainly ridiculous that when measured against them any other borderline act feels like a ban. Do we really want the game to use them as the benchmark though?

I think the disciplinary has being getting it wrong and has been way too harsh, I’d like it to change and tone down the bans, Super League is a better product with fewer bans, but that can’t happen in Grand Final week.

When you look at the bans given to Bentley, Tetevano, Austin, Sezer, Fusitu’a and Martin we must have consistency to the end of the season, Knowles and Welsby simply have to both pick up a ban.

Wonder if you might have been right the other day when you said Smith at six. He said it was the "obvious" choice at the presser but he's a cool customer isn’t he? Saints start with such a big physical onslaught and it crossed my mind that he might start Tet at loose forward.

You missed the Matautia late challenge on Atkin,leading to a green card.It was late, the ball had gone and should be deemed wrecklees as to the outcome,since there was whiplash.These challenges have been getting bans all season long.With regard to Knowles his disciplinary CV this season has seen him collect bans for dangerous contact already,so if the MR tribunal have a shed of integrity they should cop bans.

Tend to agree with the bodies missing we can't compete for pace so if we are to get a win we have to match Saints up front.

with the bans think it's very much keep own house in order especially as a club with 3 ex players with long term injuries.
letting someone off for a final would be consistent with past years , though very inconsistent with recent regular seasons
would also seem harsh banning people for semi finals if turning a blind eye to what happens in them

I think Rohan Smith has to think about the Leeds kicking game. Cam Smith in the halves makes us heavily dependent on Austen unless we start with Leeming at hooker who can provide some kicks.
We have quite a few players who have been playing various roles so the team may adapt different positions depending on the flow of the game.
I'm thinking we need Hardaker at centre for defensive duties and need Martin in the pack for some beef. So my team would probably have myler sticking at fullback with Smith or Leeming in the halves but really working on their kicking game knowing there will be some real kick pressure.

I'm not too keen on Leeming starting either at hooker or half. He always wants to do everything himself whereas with O'Connor he just does the basics and allows the half backs to do the kicking. Leeming would stop Austin putting the high spiraling bombs up etc. as he wants the ball every 5th tackle.

Leeming's defence is not the best - him starting could be a real problem. Hardaker at centre, if Handley fit Briscoe must drop out.
