A new coach can only do so much when youve got half the team on the sidelines

Sadly I think you are right, I think on sky they said Cas made 11 errors in first 20 odd minutes of the second half and they made loads in the first half. Against a decent team with real pace we would have been slaughtered today.

Thought we competed well today with team we had out to be fair. Were off in attack but our backline is so depleted and Austin inj didnt help so its understandable.

They was there for the taking but with the team we had we did ok.

I expected a drubbing today but Easter Monday are always scrappy.

I was very critical of selecting 2 x 17 yr olds with next to no preparation time and I stand by that but both did well especially defensively. Gannon was excellent.

Overall im not disappointed with that really but weve now lost Austin for Friday.

Season from hell over again.

If I’m looking for positives, Simpson and Sinfield did well today, better than we might reasonably have expected. Gannon plays above his years, it’s just a shame they’re surrounded by abject mediocrity in almost every other pair of boots.

I think the poor squad balance with the unlucky injuries added to the stupid bans ( mostly) is just starting to tell.

What if it’s say Carr or Ciraldo, who both would need work permits, releases from their current clubs and work permits. If it’s an Aussie, I don’t see them being here for 6 weeks at least.

Thought Simpson and Sinfield did ok with Gannon the pick of the 3.
I didn`t think Dwyer did too bad either and Leeming looks better in the halves than at hooker.
Bentley needs to come up with a better way to have a go instead of blatantly smacking a player in front of the ref.
Expect 3 games out.
Tetavano was average at best.
Briscoe and Sutcliffe a waste of space.
Whilst we only lost by 2 I feel Cas must have played one of their worse games all season.

Positives
I think that was our most spirited performance since round 1, our heads didn’t go down and we didn’t stop trying until the final whistle.
Defence.
Oledzki.
Gannon.

Negatives
We still lost.
Attack.

Decent effort, but still not enough.
Cas were dreadful, but still never really looked like losing.
I just don't see where a win is coming from.

Gannon, Martin, Handley and Oledski excellent.
Sinfield had a shaky start, but grew into the game, and his kicking game is a real asset.
Simpson didn't do a huge amount, but didn't let anyone down. Looks a strong lad.

Sutcliffe, Briscoe, Thompson, Mellor, Dwyer and Tetevano really are a joke.
I know we say it every week, but Dwyer's passing is absolutely laughable.
Bentley at least looks like he cares, but he's a total liability.
And again, totally clueless in attack. No shape, no organisation, no plan, no threat.

Frustrating to see go close in a game that on paper we should of lost by twenty, but still come up short. Both Sinfield and Simpson suicidaly young to be playing, however they did fine. Really liked the way young Jack ran at the line, but sometimes the quality of Dwyers passing leaves no choice. He really has got to be out the door this year. Ruins every half back he plays with.

Always thought Leeming has gone well in the halves. Think JJB made a mistake not playing him there v Hudds and from the start today.

We were poor. Very poor. That first 20mins of 2nd half where we couldn't complete a set should of been your chance but your goal line attack was poor. Relying on Sinfields little grubber kick throughs.

Poor game all around today I think and no team deserved the 2 points.

Good to see there is effort and team spirit, but the team look completely uncoached. You get under 11s team with a better game plan

The word passing and Dwyer should not appear in the same sentence as he is incapable of performing the basic skill required. Huge job for new coach as issues all over the pitch with at the moment only 4 to 5 players justifying their selection.
