True, but in that scenario it would leave us with an all home grown Super League. With the way the squad's been picked this year, if the overseas players don't perform, they won't play.

We have wasted money on overseas players in the past and that it got us to lows we had!! In the last 2/3 years alot of work as gone on to start the ball rolling producing talent again as the club had got away from what we had been doing well!
We are starting to see the benefits of that including Wane being promoted to assistant! This season we have left some of these overseas players out in favour of youth products!
Riddell, Phelps, Bailey and Feka will all more than likely be going out so that means we have created 1 place for a youth player!! If Deacon retires and Pryce goes that is 2 more!! Not to mention G. Hock should be back part way through next season to!!

In which case you would be denying the chance for 1 of your home grown players to play!! And then you would be doing just what you have slated us for so your arguement is null and void!!

Did you not read my post? I said I wasn't denying we have done the same thing as you! It doesn't mean I agree with it, I am against what your team and mine have done/doing. Also we would still be promoting young BRITISH talent if we signed Westerman.

Not really though, Phelps and Feka haven't actually been playing for you so two youth players have been promoted to cover their absence. I'm also unsure wither Bailey would get in your pack if all fully fit. I'm assuming all three of you new signings will start so really you are loosing at least 2 if not 3 spots for younger players.

Pretty sure we will need a squad think its 28 different players used this season.
No one as been promoted to cover Phelps or Feka. Goulding and Ainscough have been in the 1st team for a while as had O'Carroll and Prescott. Lima will add to the props (Dont forget we played Wire with 2 props!)
And there is no guarantee that any players will play has been shown this season!! Poor performers will find themselves playing 20s the week after!

Wigan have signed a prop to replace Feka, a second row to replace Bailey and a scrum half to allow Leuleui to move to hooker replacing Riddell.
Phelps will also be leaving so surely that means another opportunity for one of our young players, maybe Marsh or Charnley.

Yes they have. Of the four players that are leaving two of them haven't been playing and it's debatable wither Bailey would get into your pack when at full strength. So really again, you are losing two if not three spots which youngsters could have filled.

I was thinking at the weekend (before i came on here after the game) that i wouldn't mind Wigan winning the GF if we didn't and it may be good for Superleague, well done Wigan, well deserved n all that.........

I now beleive that view was misguided........ and I hope that should we not win Saints become Champions, or even Wire (although there's more chance of the Pope becoming the next Bulls coach)... I haven't seen ONE comment from a Wigan'er that has had any class about it or any humbleness.... fingers crossed they go a another good few years yet without any success
