Omicron appears to be very transmissible. I would imagine once one player gets it, the large majority of the team will and thus, hopefully the team has a good immunity against the virus for future games meaning less games are impacted by Covid.

Hopefully less people die also.

Really? The game was on 13th March , the government (after dithering far too long) imposed the first national lockdown on the 23rd. The club set an eminently sensible, far-sighted example and they should have been applauded for doing so.

It was on 14th March but 13th was when we said we weren't flying.
And also on 14th flights were turning around mid air due to covid spread. The game probably wouldn't have gone ahead.

Very difficult situation for all sports but especially team sports. Im far from a fan of the governing body but they are in a bad spot with this. Not sure how you can handle it well really.

I see the French government has said that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed into sporting venues. The Wakefield CEO is worried because he has 6 out of 33 unvaccinated squad members. He's said a couple more might decide to get vaccinated if it means missing games but others won't. What's also clear is that he isn't putting any pressure on, yet claims its somehow unfair because the rules might change later. Well, you reap what you sow. If you're not going to pressure players to do their utmost to be available to fulfil their duties as employees, you cannot complain if they are then not available.

This sort of attitude probably explains the low uptake at some clubs and why it is absolutely necessary for the RFL to step in as they did and rule out cancelling games due to COVID.

As far as I'm aware we're going to have the possibility of relegation this year. I wonder if the CEO will still be saying that "I've got to respect their personal choice" if Wakey are staring down the barrel of relegation?

Catalans have said they have all of their players and staff vaccinated, hopefully we are in a similar situation.

If players are unable to travel to play in Perpignan or Toulouse they only have themselves to blame imo, the rules that are in place are clear, the choice on whether they can travel and play is with the players.

Leeds are keeping very coy if all our players are vaxed.

They do appear to have issues, but if they are effectively forcing the issue into the open it might be a better approach in the long-term than not dealing with it head on and having your squad disrupted throughout the season if players are forced to isolate?

Surely it’s time for SL to to limit the clubs to British again?
You can’t have a comp where some players, can only play some games because of their right to decline a shot in their arm!
Completely devalues the competition and is quite frankly farcical. There would be no issue now if it wasn’t for the French governments stance……..

They decide who is allowed to participate. This is why they Were asking Catalans for a fee to play in CC as they were threatening not allowing them…..
